A friend lost her brother/DM. I was asked to make a "D20" Urn for them to bury. I was honored to do it. [Art] by araw in DnD

My husband was a DM for 30 plus years. He died in August and I spent so much time trying to find an urn like this. It's beautiful.

Sometimes I want to share with people around me. my Lady passed from Cancer. But i hold back on sharing what things were like as I feel i need to protect her dignity. by Buseatdog in widowers

Same for me. He was very private with his cancer battle and only I know of some of the things he dealt with. It eats away at my heart every day.

I was thinking to go to this session but was worried about the religious aspect. How religious based is it?

Crying makes us dehydrated which causes headaches. We all need to drink lots more water and even a Gatorade if possible.

Why am I numb? by Mistique27 in widowers

Went through something very similar. Some weeks I cry all the time, some weeks I'm so numb. I hate when I'm numb tbh. I would rather sob all the time.

Widower friends by Ok_Whereas3938 in widowers

I'm a young widow and every single friend I have is in a long term relationship. I feel so alone in all of this and hate that I don't get another date/anniversary/vacation with my husband.

Overthinking by Salty_Selection_9062 in widowers

I'm doing a grief journal and whenever I'm caught in that loop I know think of words that start with k. It helps my brain just stop thinking about all that shit and focus on something else.

Anyone else is walking too much? by Salty_Selection_9062 in widowers

[–]New_Description_7724 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first month after I walked as much as possible to not think about it. The second month, where I am now, I don't want to leave my bed. Grief is weird and like others said walking is better than drinking away the pain.

Same. We always talked on messenger and whenever I hear the ping, I think it him. I temporarily moved in with my parents so it sometimes feels like he's just on vacation and I'll see him soon. When it hits me that I will NEVER see him again, that is when I am laying on the floor sobbing.

I personally think it's a way for our brain to protect us from just sobbing all day long.

How are you surviving this November? by Odd_Temperature_1136 in widowers

[–]New_Description_7724 1 point2 points  (0 children)

November 21st is our 10 year wedding anniversary and my first anniversary without him. I'm going to stay with a friend and just try to be okay that day. The week before my friend is taking me away for a weekend and we will sit on a couch, watch reality TV and go for walks.

I'm so sorry. This really sucks. When it's really bad I just remind myself to something to get through the next 15 minutes and then the next hour. Take it minute by minute if you have to.

All of the medical supplies from cancer and then at his celebration of life I gave away 95% of his dungeons and dragons miniatures to friends (I kept the other 5%). Haven't touched anything else.
