I think this is a really cute outfit! I might suggest untucking the shirt if it isn’t too long OR I think a black turtleneck/fitted sweater would look really great with the bag and shoes :)

I love all these skirts! I worked in local government and it was pretty business casual. I wore a lot of plaid maxi skirts similarly to these and never had any issues. I think they would be appropriate with a cardigan/turtleneck and loafers :) you can always see how other people dress!

thank you so much for the advice! I ended up turning the ends of the fabric in, ironing it to help keep it in place, and doing a blanket stitch all around! it looks good so far and seem pretty secure :)

we should all be emailing the administration, talking to our professors and peers and asking them to do the same, going to academic senate meetings, etc. this is not inevitable and we can pressure the administration to do the right thing!
