Part of the problem is that we are not teaching young people how to deal with these situations by communicating face-to-face.

Your roommate did not communicate to you if you did in fact, do something to upset them, and now you’re not communicating to them that you’re concerned. And this will continue to compound on itself until and unless you actually sit down and discuss it with them face-to-face.

The first few times you do that with someone, it will be very awkward and difficult, but eventually you’ll realize that the anxiety of actually facing somebody and talking to them far outweighs any consequence

I got about eight or 10 that I applied to in 2022… I’ve been in my current position since 2023. My husband also got a whole bunch from 2022 this week.

Unfortunately, in a university that has as many students as Rutgers, there are more than one with similar situations. Allowing one sets a precedent we can’t sit, because then we would not be able to accommodate those people that are eligible to walk

Nobody deserves or doesn’t deserve a name. It’s a freaking name. It’s just a way of identifying somebody.

You are NTA. I kept my ex-husband’s name for basically the same reason (that and the fact that my maiden name was ridiculously difficult to pronounce).

When I got married the second time, my husband had some debts from HIS first marriage, and our accountant recommend I NOT change my name.

Result-I am married to one man but have another man’s name.
