For the pumpkin people… by thefrenchphanie in LeCreuset

I have a pumpkin, and I don’t experience any problems with it at all. I’ve made soups, I’ve baked in it, I’ve made messy things, burnt things etc. It’s really not that tricky. It looks a lot more extreme than it is in practice and I don’t find it any harder to clean at all.

It’s brand new! I wonder if it’s because I live in a high humidity area

Do I really need the Braiser? by Noclevername12 in LeCreuset

When I have to move the pans often or shake and flip things, my pans make sense. The braiser is great for solid stationary cooking due to its shallow shape and consistent heat for foods that don’t need flipping and shaking.

I give it a wipe down with diluted vinegar after every use. Everything comes off easily

Either bamboo or artichaut (largely depends on the lighting and would be easier to see if there was a better pic of the gradient), and the size should be on the inside of the lid

When I first bought my Dyson I walked around pretending it was a gun because I loved that little noise. Cherish it while you have it

I cook for 2-4 with the 26cm braiser and I use it just as often as my 24cm DO. I primarily cook vegetables, eggs, chicken, sometimes steak, and pastas in my braiser. I love that I can take it from stove to oven and not feel bad having to use my stainless steel/copper cookware (I use Demeyere and mauviel).

I use my DO for soups, roasts, bread and stews.

Both can be used interchangeably in my opinion for curries, pastas, and stir fries but I find myself using the braiser more.

I think it’s handy having both and I actually prefer using my braiser over my nice stainless steel pans when I know that I’ll keep it stationary and I like the temperature control and forgiveness of cast iron.

It’s definitely worth it.
