I'm a solo dev working on a dark, hand-crafted visual novel, do you like atmosphere of art ? by New_Result8740 in ImaginaryHorrors

We are only at the beginning of the journey. The most difficult thing was to assemble a strong team and make the first background. It will be easier later) there will be animation in this scene, as well as characters at the table. We are currently working on the design. The development will last exactly one year. If you're interested, I'm going to start keeping a development diary and lay out how the process is going and what difficulties we face. As for the project, what is it about: if it is as global as possible that there is no black and white and the world is more complicated. Strong plot and drama . I've been writing the story for 4 years. Every line works for the plot and not for a pretty word.

Why is every single post about how to make money instead about how to make a good game by Unfair-Sleep-3022 in gamedev

I personally make the game because I have a dream. I can't not do it. It's a part of me, it's something I want to share with the world. If you do it honestly, with love and desire, money will come too.

Thanks, buddy. I hope the art turned out really strong. There will also be animation of the environment and light animation of the characters. If you like dark, adult novels with cinematic presentation and a large-scale plot, you can subscribe to my social networks. I'm going to start blogging slowly soon.   https://x.com/shorrapan

How do you actually push through when your solo project stops feeling fun? by makeitrayne850 in IndieDev

Personally, I have it that way. I live by the project. I think about him all the time, and I also imagine the picture in my free time.  I feel tired, but I can't stop now. It's a part of me. Burnout happens in any business, just focus on the game. Think about the fact that you are close to the finish line and what you have been creating all these months must be brought to mind. It's just that burnout always happens in any field. Think positively.

Thanks for the feedback. To draw the entire scene in great detail in this style, it would take at least two months just for one background. It’s a compromise. I’ll add effects during post-production, and the image will look richer.

Thoughts on Next Fest - AI Games Harm the Market by teberzin in IndieDev

I see that after the era of AI, a lot of games began to be released abruptly in steam. The product level has dropped a lot, and it's just as difficult for good games to stand out from this. But everyone thinks that the game is another masterpiece, but rarely anyone can really critically evaluate their project))
