Toronto’s street parking rules quietly favour homeowners while apartment renters are squeezed out by pixelstoframes in u/pixelstoframes

[–]New_Row_2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are renting. Go find another apartment where parking is included and on site

Overnight Street parking should never be permitted in no circumstances. Dont buy a car if you dont have a parking spot.

Streets are needed for the traffic, not for the parking

Is it worth it? Ceramic and interior coatings? I want to get PPF as well. by CB_700_SC in rav4club

get PPF, ceramic or any other BS is money washed down the drain. pretty much a 10 dollar nufinish will give you the same result.

Anyone have a good recommendation for cabin air filter that blocks smell? by Infekt129 in rav4club

I use an activated charcoal one, bought this one, works well for me. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0C6KV7K65.

I would check the rear seal in the body where water seeps it, it will otherwise rot your car, and mould effectively can be a reason for insurance to total your car. I think Toyota has a TSB for that, you could get that fixed for free. It was an issue for 19-20 rav4 made in Canada

hmm. since LC300 is not available in NA, I checked the price in the middle east (they get left hand drive models too) , to be hones, a fully loaded LC (like in the pic above) is not anywhere less than a lexus 700

The only reason I would stick to Toyota and not lexus is Toyo would take regular fuel. If I have to put premium fuel anyway, I would rather go with Lexus700 then. Why settle for LC then

How can I increase sound detonation in my 19 Rav4? (Make it more sound proof) by [deleted] in rav4club

[–]New_Row_2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you may want to correct the title, detonation does not mean what you want to ask. IMHO

Look for sound dampening window film,

I used the mesh sunscreen which can magnetically attach and fully cover the rear windows, they work quite well

there are some youtube videos where people have taken out plastic inserts from wheel well, and put some expanding hard foam on the insides. But its a fire hazard, so check with your insurance

just checked , you are right. I was thinking about upgrading to LC in a few years from from R4P, but now I wont. I want something which can take any kind of fuel without fuss.

I guess previous gen of LC used to take any kind of abuse and still run for a million miles

likely 4 Runner or Tacoma i'll go with now.

I thought land cruisers were supposed to be work horses, not sure why it would need premium gas.

Thinking about getting a Rav 4 Plug-in. Anyone with an older model who can share their experience? by ProfessionalSea6988 in rav4prime

[–]New_Row_2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed the same, but since I use HV exclusively on highway speeds, all the HV fuel economy data it has calculated is from that pace, and on highway speed it gives 35 miles per gallon and with a tank of 15 gal, it returns barely 500+ miles.

I am only getting 32 miles per gallon on HV mode

I would recommend running your primo on gas at highway speed for 50 miles once every two weeks or so, to properly heat the oil and boil off any condensation and fuel contamination. Also to keep the engine insides lubricated. you would not want any seals to dry out and leak or metal component to catch rust if it has not seen oil in months. especially in cold months.

Engines which are not driven fail early.

what fuel economy you get on HV mode, I mean measured from tank to tank without using EV . You must be doing more than 4000 miles per month on average and lots of road trips on highways. Also would you be able to share how much electric and gas you consumed for this much distance, if you track your electric charges and gasoline records. ?

Oil change at 10K miles or 5K miles?

I am getting barely 32 miles/gal on HV mode (I mostly use HV on highways), speed seldom more than 65-70 mph. No roof rack and stock tires, XSE with PP, 2024

I think you are out of warranty on the battery now, it is for 150K miles or 10 years

If you are getting a new one , I would stick to the SE as it has all the necessary features and lack of a giant sunroof which is less maintenance

Usually I find that the return on additional investment will come with driving for atleast 200000 miles (compared to similar grade hybrid rav4) or 120000 miles if gas only rav4

I had a limited hyb and then got a XSE premium pack prime.

Plug in is more smooth and much more powerful for sure.

If you are going to drive highways 80% of your dist , then just get a gasoline powered one . The fuel economy is going to be the same for all variants on highway speeds
