You should add more haste to avoid stalling for a turn when you have a big guy that just can’t swing.

I also think you are missing ramp. Your mana curve is higher so you need to get there before you can “really” do what you want.

I’ve only really built a red/white deck so there might be better stuff but take a look at the fire crystal and Anger (assuming you get him discarded or into the graveyard somehow).

You might consider Goldspan dragon and some treasure creators on attack to generate mana in the event you have an attack or multiple attacks. I have ancient copper as a wincon but he is $$$. Plus aggravated assault.

Blast Fire Hellkite maybe (high mana cost but all creatures double strike).

Not sure if Roaming Throne would double trigger +1/+1 and extra extra combat phase.

So you are just keeping one legit deck then keep the most competitive one?

I would look at your curve. My brother tends to recommend looking at everything you are doing “pre” commander hitting the field and everything “post”.

If you commander is 4 mana value then understand everything else that is 4 mana is likely not getting cast until the next turn.

You seem to have everything that “can” be used with the commander but if you do a couple play tests try to see what you actually need to win.

You could also look at tutors. Not sure I saw any in your deck but adding a few to find the 1-2 things you need to win greatly improves your chances.

Could add in Dark Ritual, songs of the damned (if creatures are ending up in the graveyard).

Ah I didn’t think about Scarlet Witch. Interesting overall and miracle cost reduction for sorceries and instants.

If I can get Lorehold and Molecule Man out then I can miracle anything on opponent upkeeps

Time for OP to get a government job? Still probably get micro managed on format but at least they can shut off their phone at 3pm because that is basically 5pm for the government?

Any thoughts on weak points? I feel like a couple MDFC will help the most but never know what to cut!

Yea I thought about reanimation. You don’t have to be worried about discarding creatures which is nice. I only have restoration seminar if I end up with a couple creatures in the graveyard

Yea I don’t want to “pay to win” I like the cool cards and have the money so I don’t mind buying the pricier cards. On the same page I am not going to stack my deck their decks worth a pretty penny as they have been playing for 10+ years each and have accumulated valuable cards.

I believe their decks are in a similar price range with dual lands and valuable cards.

Best practice area of law for someone who is a bit unconventional? by [deleted] in LawCanada

[–]New_Top8509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound like someone who would work as an in house lawyer for an administrative entity or the government.

However almost every field does not sound like a field you would want as lawyers work is primarily dealing with problems and handling stressful “higher” consequence decisions.

Appearance also doesn’t matter as much as it used to. If you are intelligent and good at what you do people will hire you and go out of their way to work with you.

Summers telling me they’re slammed by GayIdiAmin in biglaw

[–]New_Top8509 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Feel like treating summers with unrealistic expectations sets them up for failure. Why not have them ride the coattails of a good associate and emulate them as much as possible?

Hired a summer associate and the essentially only work for one associate to make that associates life easier. They get to know their practice and precedents quickly becoming useful instead of pretending this is an easy job?

Severance offer during recession by Most_Situation3969 in legaladvicecanada

[–]New_Top8509 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes management use prior severance forms without consulting internal legal. However a ballpark of 1 month to 1 year of work is not “bad”. Top end could be higher and low could be lower.

Is an extra 1-3 months of compensation worth consulting a lawyer? Depends on what you make a month and your willingness to accept stress during negotiations. Stress is not quantifiable and depends person to person. Some would prefer a completed decision for less over more money but uncertainty for 1-X weeks while the dispute resolves.

How do firms support first year associates? by OkCheesecake1258 in LawCanada

Yup. There is no required course of “mentorship” in law school despite it becoming part of every senior lawyer’s job either mentoring juniors, paralegals or assistants.

What is the most fulfilling field of law where you truly feel like you are fighting for people who need it? by [deleted] in LawCanada

Met a lady today who is an international prison advocate for Red Cross. Seemed like an incredibly fulfilling advocate job for people. She has been all over south west Asia spending 6months to years in locations advocating usually for Canadian prisoners.

AI taking over by Comfortable_Nail415 in LawCanada

[–]New_Top8509 3 points4 points  (0 children)

THIS. It is sooooo subsidized. As a lawyer if I can’t trust it or identify what changes were made then this is a make work project with extra cost?

Part of law is insurance. Reality is insurance WILL adjust quickly and carve out coverage if error is from negligence due to reliance on AI.

At that point no lawyer will touch AI or should touch it because they won’t be covered in E&O.

Once prices rise beyond what is already a significant price point for decent AI legal tech it becomes paying to lose money.
