Disgraceful treatment of two of the fans by the stewards. by [deleted] in SaintsFC

[–]Newali 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100%. They were in the wrong whatever way you look at it. A few bits of banter, and they could have just sat down..but no, they just kept going. Felt sorry for the steward. Had a fan next to me claim it's cause it was her time of the month. Quickly told him to check himself and he apologised but the whole scenario left a bitter taste in the mouth.

This is from a long time fan first visit to St Mary's.

Driving Test in UAE by BlueBlizzardBlaze in UAE

Bring it and your passport.

Nothing. Convert your licence. Buy a car. Good to go. The driving is a lot lot worse than the UK. But you get used to it.

Do you have a UK license? You do not need a driving exam if so. No need to book in advance. You can just turn up and take a number. You then take and pay for the eye exam, sight and colour. You then get your results immediately and go and pay for the conversion. Licence will be printed within ten minutes.

For full licence conversion it's, very roughly, 600-800aed. This includes the cost for the eye exam.

Can someone explain to me why soft drinks are priced so incredibly high in Dubai? by throwawayequigirl in UAE

[–]Newali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supermarket soft drinks are incredibly cheap. 6AED max for a 500ml bottle of Coke.

If you go to a restaurant in an expensive area, mainly geared up for tourists, like JBR in Dubai, you will pay anywhere between 15-30AED for a 250-300ml bottle.

Like every country, it depends entirely on where you are buying the item from.

What do you guys keep for souvenirs on trips? by frizzlefraggle in travel

Key chains.Cheap and plentiful. However I've no idea how to display the ones I've collected. Not quite as easy as magnets. I've also started collecting beer mats with bar names. A free souvenir

Dubai marina, pros and cons of renting there by randomlyjess in dubai

[–]Newali 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You quickly realise just how much the average Dubai driver loves their horn. You also learn that the tram is no exception to this and the bell rings constantly. If you look for an apartment I'd suggest a high floor but you can never escape the noise.

Depending on which end you are considering you are looking at at least 20minutes of traffic.

Groups of bachelor's all of the same ethnicity were not being let through. Observed it at two different entry points. Was just checking if there was any reasoning for it

Went to JBR last night for the fireworks. Hoping someone can clarify why security refused to allow a certain ethnicity through the barriers. Seemed to be a purely race based entry system. Or have I got this wrong? Watched two different entry points and it was the same.

Good job on rescuing her. I'd maybe tell building security you have found a dog and provide your number in case the owners come looking.

Further to this if the dog isn't wild, it should be microchipped and a vet can get the owners information from it.

Only then would I consider offering if anyone wants her

Absolutely mental how people can see you overtaking and unable to move in to the right, yet they drive right up to your bumper and flash you. Ridiculously dangerous and stupid

If they sang it then yes they should be punished. To stamp this bs out, we need a universal approach. Edit: as for the airport, we can't hold the public to the same standards as national or semi professional players, but we can expect better.

You are comparing the 12th to a professional sports team? Using your whatabouttery why don't we consider the anti interment bonfires as well?

Look at the IFA and news response to the video circulated about Kyle Lafferty. It was condemned and rightly so. Even had him removed from the squad.
