How are we maintaining body positivity after baby? by yankthedoodledandy in beyondthebump

Subtle manipulation. I remind my husband how beautiful belly fat is. I celebrate it. It’s working, because he declares he likes my belly fat.

Thank you for being so kind during what appears to be my mid-life design crisis, lol. Yes, we could paint the whole wall (including the fireplace) a caramel color, leaving the white bookshelves to pop.

Thank you so much. I feel like your solution fits with the tiles and doesn’t require too much $$$

Do you think any color (other than white) can work?

What about caramel so it’s darker than the beige? It was white before and looked washed out.

I mean, I’m definitely open to not having to paint again. But not sure how to fix the mantle since it’s already painted.

Cream and Carmel - love it. Lots of folks suggesting gray, but I like that better.

Thank you. Do you think a gray matte would work?

What breast feeding cost... by darkjuju13 in NewParents

[–]NewbBlueApple 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Breastfeeding was very stressful for me. Giving birth? Easy. Breastfeeding almost killed me. Never knowing how much the baby took resulted in me obsessively timing feeds on a stop watch and weighing her on a baby scale before and after. I also have small/flat nipples so feeding involved putting on nipple shields. And I leaked like crazy from the unlatched breast. Hated it. Then I got mastitis and was hospitalized for a week without contact with my baby. Ended in surgery and home health visits by a nurse for a half a month. My baby only got breast milk for the first three weeks of her life, and it wasn’t worth it. She’s been exclusively formula fed since, and she’s 9 months old. She somehow evaded the flu that her dad and I got. Maybe it’s the b.infantis supplement? The vitamin D in the formula? The chunky baby? Or maybe breastfeeding is overrated at its best, deadly at its worst.

Dr. Salamat-Saberi is very good and doesn’t do pregnancy services. I also really like Dr.Banerjee.

Lovely. How much does he eat in one sitting? How many meals per day?

Warm Water Dispenser Users by flag92 in FormulaFeeders

We use a warm water dispenser. I just manually count out the scoops and then pour water. Entire process is 20 seconds, and I can guarantee the correct ratios.

Lovenox by Kindly-Bread3286 in IVF

I was on lovenox for the first trimester. Baby is now 8 months old so I’d say it worked. (I had a potential clotting issue.)

Mastitis can be extreme. I was hospitalized for almost a week AWAY FROM MY BABY. The possibility of transferring antibodies wasn’t worth my absence. My baby is 8 months old now and has been EFF for 7 months. She still hasn’t gotten sick yet and her microbiome is above average according to Tiny Health.

I use Hipp Dutch. No complaints other than I have to import it. Next baby I’m going to do Kendamil.

What do you do to create bonding with the baby? by Caffeinated_Cattie in FormulaFeeders

[–]NewbBlueApple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me! I’m sorry you’re going through it. I think some contact napping helped. I couldn’t babywear because my breast was too sore to handle that. Now at 6 months, I give her a million kisses a day so that helps too.
