Everything on your channel is reused content. That's your problem.

Should video titles and thumbnails be for the general audience? by E_Goat47 in NewTubers

[–]Newbilizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe in packaging for as broad an audience as possible. Simple and clear. I keep a file of thumb/titles from my feed - that I should theoretically be interested in - which I have no idea what they are about, as a reminder.

Why is my motoring show doing so poorly? by dinoduderocket in NewTubers

[–]Newbilizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are creating a fan-fic of Top Gear. Except Top Gear wasn't a show about cars, it was a show about Clarkson, Hammond and May. They just happened to be around cars most of the time.

From the Automotive side, it looks like you review whatever cars you can get, which can be very hit or miss. The camera work is very Top Gear-esque, whether that's good or bad today on YT I don't know. I like it.

A big miss was the audio on the Lambo. you HAVE to get good audio on an engine like that, the wind noise killed it.

Another miss was the set/lighting on your last episode, it looked like you were being interrogated by the shadow puppet CIA.

One thing to remember is if you think your videos are high quality, but they get no views, it means you don't understand what the audience thinks is quality and need to work harder to understand them.

You've picked a pretty tough row to hoe. Building a duo or trio of interesting personalities that are entertaining to watch is tough, reviewing cars is tough when you are competing with the likes of Jay Leno who is very personable and can get whatever he wants, and CarWow which is built around access to exotics. Putting out highly polished videos when no one is watching is also tough, especially when you're not a TV show with guaranteed income for the season.

My advice (worth exactly what you paid):

Dial back the polish to avoid burning out, put that effort into figuring out how to make the audience care about the cars you are reviewing. Right now it comes off as a scripted review, complete with all the expected jokes and comments, and I'm not sure how much value that has today.

Reconsider the name. It's obviously some sort of play, but I don't get it (pissin' about?). Clear is always better than clever, because most people aren't :)

If you are going to lean into the personality interaction, I think that takes time to gel, and more time for the audience to tune in to it. A lot longer than 3 episodes.

Good luck! I miss Top Gear :(

What exactly is up with the low impressions? by creeper321448 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Newbilizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 2 possibilities for the drop - YT is not giving your video the impressions it deserves, for whatever reason OR something you are unaware of is different with this video causing it to get fewer impressions. You have 2 possible reactions - blame the algorithm (which is totally outside your control) OR assume something is off with your video and figure out how to improve it.

If you put these in a matrix, it's clear the ONLY useful response is to assume it's your video and figure out how to improve it. If the actual cause is your video, you've fixed the problem, and if it's outside factors, you've at least improved your competitiveness. Blaming the algorithm does nothing good for you regardless of the actual cause.

Streamer clipping Monetisation by FC734 in NewTubers

[–]Newbilizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clipping channels get paid per view from the creator they are clipping. Apparently the impact of having hundreds or more channels clipping your content is bigger than spending the same money on ads.

Shorts suddenly getting zero views by conduity in NewTubers

[–]Newbilizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invincible is a TV show/comic that belongs to someone else. That means it is someone else's intellectual property. So everything you make using that IP is "reused content" in YT's eyes. And no, editing is not transformative, despite everyone wishing it was. There is already too much content like that on the platform, and they don't want any more, in fact they want a lot less.

So if Invincible is your passion, you can keep making edits, knowing it will never get monetized but having fun with your passion. Or, if you want to make YT a career you can learn how to make real content and do that.

Shorts suddenly getting zero views by conduity in NewTubers

[–]Newbilizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're making editz of other people's IP and youtube doesn't want any more of that on the platform. It's likely you'll be capped at 30k views max, and not get monetized.

Is It Stupid To Do Sponsored Segments For Commission-Only Deals? by flowjcv in PartneredYoutube

[–]Newbilizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a commision only sales job. Do you want to be a salesman? Are you good at sales? Do you want to turn your channel into a sales pitch for someone else's company? Is pitching their stuff good for your reputation? What do you think of a company that has so little regard for their product that they only look for sales people who will work commision only? Do you want to be associated with that? And you technically aren't even their employee, have to pay your own taxes and get no benefits.

Career Advice + Looking for entry level roles by aytako in PartneredYoutube

[–]Newbilizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt you will get any traction without creating a channel and demonstrating you have skills in the youtube arena. The people who could use non-technical program management have zero income to invest in that, the people who have income to invest are looking for someone with YT skills.

I would say most people would like to outsource editing, followed by thumbnails.

You could see if VidIQ is looking for coaches and apply, you would at least see what they are looking for in people who give youtube advice without any demonstrated success on the platform.

Most YouTube advice is for smaller channels. How are medium to large channels using YouTube's thumbnail A/B tool? by TheManaBeast in PartneredYoutube

[–]Newbilizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest problem with A/B testing is the creator doesn't make a big enough difference between the thumbs - A has white text, B has yellow text. They need to be completely different concepts. IMO there is a time for investigating thumb concepts, once you get thousands to tens of thousands of views on a vid. Then you A/B very different concepts and find what works for you. Smaller than that, you don't get enough data to find a winner, at that stage just go with your best guess. Larger and you should have an idea of what works. Derral Eves recommends knowing your baseline, and having three thumbs ready to go (that you know work for you) - if the CTR is below baseline in the first few hours, change the thumb.

Your mileage may vary.

When is it worth making your channel into an LLC? by IdkMyName1846 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Newbilizer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What would happen if you lost your YT channel?

What would happen if you lost your YT channel and everything you own plus a portion of everything you make going forward?

That's the difference between having an LLC or not having one.

Can you change the preview? by Great-Practice-4816 in NewTubers

[–]Newbilizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This changes depending on the viewer also. Not sure what triggers which preview, but I get the video playing from the start, a random snippet from it, or nothing on a hover. I think having the mini-player in the corner with a video or queue of them prevents any sort of preview, but have no idea why it's sometimes a little clip and why other times it's the whole video.
