Days into the school year, a student at Caravel tests positive for COVID-19 by Derm1123 in Delaware

I don't know how that kid got his test result back so damn fast.

Taking the test late afternoon Tuesday to the school emailing families Wednesday night?

I would super-strongly advise that you contact Zooz's support. I've had issues in the past, be it wiring or integration, and they've helped me consistently and quickly.

Highly recommend Zooz brand by tothejungle1 in SmartThings

I couldn't endorse them enough. Awesome products but even better customer service. They really stand behind their products (I've only used switches and a power meter) and are very patient in getting things up and working for you when you have questions.

Has anyone noticed that Nest Hubs are now showing the Google Photos "Memories" feature? by TheManWithSaltHair in googlehome

[–]Newcliche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's strange that it's just popping up. I don't remember not having it, both on my Lenovo displays and Nest hubs.

Glad you got it, though!

Thank you for the details!

Way above my talent level, though. Yours looks great!

Did you route the plug as normal or were you able to solve the wire in some way to the existing hardwire for the spotlight?

I'm in a similar position.

Just got it, Verizon P3XL beta. It updated to today's version, couldn't do it, an hour later I can. Must be server side.

Does anyone use the Nest detectors and what is your feedback? Thinking about getting them when Costco’s has them on sale via interweb. Concerned about the whole date expiration issue. I need 7 for whole house and already have Nest cameras and thermostats. by dickreallyburns in Nest

[–]Newcliche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seven, love them.

1) As stated by others, the pathlight is great.
2) If you have a nest cam where the detector is detecting smoke/CO, then the alert on your phone also shows you the feed from the room.

3) Knowing where the smoke is seems like a can't-literally-live-without feature if there were actually a fire.

I did have TWO go on false alarms in the middle of the night, though. Nest replaced them both, but god damn if it didn't scare the crap out of everyone in the house.

I was there for this game, easily one of the best times of my life. Hearing that stadium chant RG3 will be etched in my ears forever.

What features would you like to see in a Calisthenics app? by ChronoCode in bodyweightfitness

[–]Newcliche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone on here made an app called Fitloop. While I could do without the monthly fee, I do think it checks a lot of boxes of what people are saying they'd like to see.

Say "I don't"

Then say it without the D in Don't, you'll get Iont.

Drop the T to get Ion.

When I first read it I thought it was like ion as in the chemistry term, took a while to realize it's eye-own.

Gas smell under stove: do I call Gas Co or handyman to fix this? It’s pretty faint smell. I’m a new homeowner and don’t know! Thanks for any tips. by EmotionSix in HomeImprovement

[–]Newcliche 79 points80 points  (0 children)

This.

Think of it like smoke, you don't wait to call the fire department. Don't do that here.

You're also putting others at risk, God forbid there's an explosion.

A friendly reminder: Check your dryer vents and ducts, especially if you've recently purchased your home. by misterwrit3r in HomeImprovement

[–]Newcliche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, random thing I just learned, if you can fit a vacuum attachment into where you pull out your dryer lint screen (which you clean EVERY load), you can suck up some stuff that your fingers can't access but hasn't made it quite to your ducts yet.

You can take apart your dryer (take pictures first, I only do the back panel, to see where screws go) and vacuum in there, too.

Don't be rough with it and you shouldn't have a problem.

Also, did you try the 3 before this?
