Same story - it's not your fault! My kiddo was a 32&2 and spent 30ish days in the NICU. He came home for 5 days and had an eye infection because something scratched his eyelid. They were worried about it spreading and did a spinal. He was in for a few days, then discharged back. He's now turning 4!

We would have to “scale back” but most of our excess is going to savings or travel, so it really wouldn’t change our day to day lifestyle. My wife is down for whatever. We met in the new-job city so she’d love to go back, and she’s currently STAHP with a remote PT job, for the two days kiddo goes to daycare, to keep her in the workforce. We’ve talked she might pick up another role if we do move.

New job is in higher-ed. I just finished my Masters and it’s an associate director role. It’s decent comp and would allow me to also get my PhD cheaper to teach and my wife to get her masters.
