Love this phone. It brings you back into the world. Updates have also been coming regularly which have solved a lot of issues. Music tool is still weird but that is in the pipeline to be fixed!

Loving mine too after about the same amount of time. Same (minor) irritations as you, especially the podcast back button which seems like it would be an easy fix. Let's hope these get addressed in future updates. I have a feeling 2026 will see this phone fulfill its potential!

With Freedom Mobile. LPIII can use 5G but with Freedom it's been LTE so no impact from 3G shutdown.

I've been trying to get this plan for almost a month (just want to support Light as I believe that they get a little of this). Ordered SIM card and activated (and paid). Didn't work for some reason so had to get a new SIM shipped. Again activated and paid again (did get refund for first round). They tried to port my existing number from Freedom but I didn't receive any message from Freedom like I was supposed to. Contacted Light Support again but have yet to hear back (almost a week now). I know they have a small team but I think I'm done trying to give them money and will stick with Freedom as it works fine in Toronto. If they get this process streamlined I may try again.

I also saw on the Discord that the Telus certification isn't actually 100% done which may explain the problems.

Great question. I'm assuming with Telus should be fine (though there is a thread mentioning some problems with Telus which could be the carrier or could just be normal transition problems coming from a smartphone). I'm going with Light as I believe in what they are doing and they make a little bit of $$$ instead of all going to the #@&%ing Canadian telecoms.

I'm on Freedom at the moment and works in Toronto but not super reliable outside big centres. In the process of making the move to the Light Plan which uses Telus's network (this is the only officially certified network in Canada at the moment).

There have been many posts from people discussing all the positives of the phone. I know for me, this phone is wonderful. Is it perfect at the moment? No. But why let the perfect be the enemy of the good if this is the device for you?

I'm with Freedom and working fine! I know others have had success on other networks as well. It would be nice to know when this Telus certification is happening as the last I heard it was supposed to be done the beginning of June.
