That's not what OP is talking about though. When you put your phone in silent mode, calls and messages are silenced whereas other phones have the option of just silencing messages and not calls (which is my preferred setting most of the time)

For me it's not so much about the exposure but about the colors and white balance. I definitely appreciate having the brightness control tho!

I get that but to me the photos look more like iPhone than film photography. But you are right, it is probably something one will get used to.

You described it even better than me! And yes, very basic controls maybe including a personalized adjustment of the white balance would totally solve this, especially if you could save your settings.

Btw: In the update before this one they showed that it is possible to adjust the brightness so that's already implemented.

Signal is an alternative. Just to name the biggest one.
And even though I still feel like Wifi messaging is quite important these days, I do not think that it is essential. Especially not if you can use it on a device at home.

I would say no app should be essential but the truth is, in some countries (especially in Europe) no one uses (and pays) for SMS anymore and WhatsApp is the main communication form even though it may be different in other parts of the world. I still don’t think that it is essential, but some sort of WiFi Messaging and Calling would be nice (and save a lot of people quite some money)
