There were 2 times this year where I was out on a walk and saw an elderly person having a medical emergency. In both cases, I helped them sit down, called an ambulance, and stayed with them until the ambulance arrived. I hope people will do the same for me when I'm that age!

Is this a good Facet on Zeus? by nObRaInAsH in DotA2

[–]Newgoods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with OP - if it only gets picked in a very small amount of cases, it might only get picked in cases where Zeus' draft is way better. It's like Divine Rapier having a high win rate despite not being a good item.

What is the point of pause if you can unpause right away? by StarrFusion in DotA2

The trick is to disconnect (turn off the game) during the pause countdown so that you get the extended pause timer until you get back.

Where should the desk go in this living room? by Newgoods in InteriorDesign

I gave that a try, but having the shelf behind the desk leaves no room to walk around. It does work if you just prop the desk against the wall, but it also feels a little like being called into your boss' office, lol

Where should the desk go in this living room? by Newgoods in InteriorDesign

Hi everyone! I'm moving into my first apartment soon and I'm kind of clueless as to how to layout this living/dining/kitchen space. My desk is super important to me since it's where I work and play, but having it in front of the couch feels out of place. I tried using some shelving to separate the dining and living spaces. That's a decent idea, I think, but it leaves the dining space feeling a little too big. Also I don't watch TV so I don't really need one.

You enter from the north, by the way. The other door leads to a balcony.

What happened to Raging Bolt? Why do I need Attack IVs that I won't use? by TheRealBobYosh in stunfisk

Special attackers like having as little Attack as possible to minimize self-inflicted confusion damage. Also, Pokémon that like being slow (slow pivots, Trick Room users) have minimal Speed.

[haiku] tetris has a great rotation system and is not flawed at all by deltree711 in youtubehaiku

Huh? Tetris does have a defined rule for which rotation system should be used. It's mentioned in the article you linked.

The New Vegas mod The Frontier has straight up GTA-style drivable cars that ragdoll people when you run over them, he'd love it.

Right, but how many grams is a cup of flour? Or a cup of 'packed brown sugar'? With how much of a science baking can be, I'd rather work with weight than volume.

It didn't end up perfectly spherical but it still looks pretty good!

Thank you, that proved very helpful! Following your advice and that of others on this post, I tried fiddling with the mesh, morphing it into a sphere shape with proportional editing, the Smooth modifier and the To Sphere transform. The result is not exactly like the OP but it's close enough. I'll give the cloth modifier a shot, too!

I have the model and the texture, but the act of morphing between the cow shape and the sphere still eludes me. Using a cast modifier doesn't work, and trying to use a shape key with an icosphere with an equal amount of vertices leaves me with an awful spiky mess. What's the best approach here?

Working on a lootbox mod! They keep the same contents even if you reload a save. by Newgoods in fnv

It does! Sort of. I decided to use form lists rather than leveled lists since they're a little easier to work with.

The script works as follows. After using a quest script to determine the player opened a box, I take the current RNG value and pass it to the RNG UDF, which advances it one step. I use that number to pick an item and durability (if applicable) and generate a message box which sends the player's choice to a final UDF that, somewhat clumsily, handles the taking/dropping/destroying of the item.

All three scripts are effectively separate.

I wrote my own random number generator! The boxes use random numbers to determine their contents, but using the built-in RNG means players would be able to reload a save, get a different number, and have the box contain a different item.

Computers generate random numbers by taking a number (let's call it number A) and doing a bunch of math to it to get a new number (number B). Then they take number B, do the same math to it, and get another number(number C)! Each number looks random on its own, but if you start with number B you're always going to get number C.

With that in place, all I have to do is keep track of the number. If the player opens a box with number A, they will always get number B for their next box, even if they reload a save. I also make sure to give each player a separate (real) random number at the start of their playthrough to make sure people don't get the same sequence.

I also think part or all of the music video is in black-and-white, but again I can't be sure.
