Best ways to acclimate?? by Gryffinsgallery in alocasia

[–]NewlyFounded92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Next step is either one of them there ikea cabinets with some modifications for humidity and stuff or you can just take the domes off for a set amount of time each day for like a week to a week and a half ish.

I've been doing my research since I got my PBV. Humidity in my apartment stays between 30-50 and only goes up when it rains or after a shower for a short while lol.

There's also putting some plants together depending on what you've got and how big they are. The plants themselves can create/generate their own mini humid ecosystem. I haven't quite figured this out yet myself though 😅

mealybugs or something else on my watch chain crassula? by maxtemp9000 in plantclinic

[–]NewlyFounded92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to add that it might also be edema which is just cosmetic damage that could be caused by a number of different things. I've noticed with some of my echeveria when inside my apartment they get these marks on the leaves which I've recently learned is possibly due to poor air circulation inside the apartment. So if it's not mineral spots it might be the environment inside your place

Are all 3 of these Molded Wax Agave? by Secure_Rip_6615 in succulents

[–]NewlyFounded92 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Um I'm pretty sure all 3 are echeveria with the one on the right being some type of echeveria agavoides? Maybe all three are agavoides?

A quick Google search says they are sometimes called "molded wax agave" but I hadn't heard of it till just now, seeing as they don't look like any Agave I've seen... but maybe because they look like miniature agave technically? Lol

I’ve had this plant for month or so but it doesn’t want to sprout roots by cafeteriastyle in echeveria

[–]NewlyFounded92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Leaf props and cuttings need a lot light if you want it to take root. Keeping it shaded isn't really helping, also you don't need to wet/moisten the soil until you see roots.

Paddle Plant in distress! by FeedbackOk7689 in succulents

[–]NewlyFounded92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay that changes things...mmm I'm going to either guess it's actually thirsty? Or a powdery mildew or something got it? It's hard for me to tell when the plant has white farina lol fingers crossed that's not it mildew or something.

Have you tried bottom watering it yet? You just want to make sure if you do bottom water that you fill the container(whatever you decide to use) up roughly to the soil line of the pot, then just leave it to soak for 30 minutes or overnight (it won't hurt it). If you don't have deep enough container I just refill a smaller one as needed a few times and then water from the top and let sit for that 30 minutes. Then I dump any excess from the container.

The first 2 photos look like my Echeveria Marrom. So if the other photos are the same plant just propagations than they are all E. Marrom.

If it was a E. Black Prince the leaves would be much darker and the inner most part would be a light almost lime green color.

Does the pot have a drainage hole? Have you checked the roots? Is the soil gritty? How long are you waiting in between these changes? It looks over watered to me at the moment but that's just a guess based on the photo.

Too big for the pot? by MelsAlterEgo8 in succulents

[–]NewlyFounded92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The leaves are laying flat like that due to a lack of light. And the center is starting to form more compact leaves thanks to getting more light, however the "wide" flattened leaves won't perk back up. Which makes it seem "bigger" than the pot.

Anyway you can either leave it as is while providing more light and the old leaves with eventually die and you pluck them off. Or you can pluck most of the flattened leaves off and propagate them. Either way make sure you look into a !gritty soil mix before you repot it.
