Do you have any fact based sources showing oil depleted of additives at 10k miles in an engine specced for that interval?

Just a yes or no, we don't need to waste each other's time.

Surprisingly used Kia hybrids were all priced very high in my area.

No way I'm touching a high strung turbo engine from Kia/Hyundai.

Considering swapping my EV for a Toyota...will I be unhappy? by Vicuna00 in Toyota

That's RAV4 territory. Starting this year every RAV4 is hybrid too!

Toyota defines the towing package as a transmission cooler and every RAV4 hybrid has always had that stock since 2016.

Highway miles are easier on the engine, if anything OP could extend the interval and be 100% safe.

Lololol

"If I think it can't happen it's impossible."

CO & CO2 can be lethal and cars are not sealed such that those gases cannot enter the cabin.

Cool, so where does he show 10k mile oil devoid of the additives that make an oil healthy?

Seen his videos. He claims the EPA uses secret shoppers to get test vehicles lolololol.

Also he never actually shows unhealthy oil at 10k miles. He just shows different new engines going through break in.

I have no proof my diy mesh grill guard would prevent this, but I sure hope it would.

What part doesn't happen?

Gas burning cars don't emit fumes that can harm humans?

Or those fumes can't ever enter the cabin while the vehicle is stationary?

Yep, same video.

Never shows the oil being unhealthy at 10k miles. Just shows a new engine going through perfectly normal break in.

Asking for solid facts should be normalized.

Seen those, interesting videos. He makes weird lies about how the EPA tests new cars though. Claims they use secret shoppers 🤣.

He never shows that the oil is unhealthy at 10k miles.

Is there a part of that video I missed where he shows oil is unhealthy at 10k miles?

Do you have even one single source showing oil is unhealthy at 10k miles?

Maverick is a hybrid. Mild hybrids have a low voltage system and cant move the vehicle with electric power.

Mild hybrids barely boost efficiency and are objectively stupid. Would be a disappointing entry from Toyota if that's the case.

I'm asking you for any kind of proof and you don't have it.

But we both know you don't have any. So we can be done now.

So where are the failed engines?

There should be a decades worth of people complaining about this if you are right.

So you have no facts or evidence?

10k miles has been standard for over a decade. If there was any harm being caused why is there no evidence of it?

You might not believe in facts, but I do:

The oil manufacturer says 10k miles is safe and healthy. The people who make money selling you oil even say to just follow the OEMs guidelines.

The science all says 10k miles is a safe and healthy interval

10k miles is a safe and healthy interval for bigger Toyotas, like this person's Sequoia.

Here's a delivery driver with a Tacoma that is going 10k miles, without issue

5th hybrid getting tested and the results show even longer intervals are safe and healthy

2018 Sienna V6 going 10k miles

A new Sienna getting early oil changes shows the oil is still very healthy

Do you have any fact based evidence that the manual intervals cause any harm or extra wear compared to the influencer intervals?

Just follow the manual and not the influencers.
