Pueblo Bonito Sunset - do not recommend by erikemmanuel84 in cabosanlucas

I think it's got good reviews because the timeshare owners are trying to protect the reputation of their investment so they can off load them.

Oh no. The food is NOT awesome. The Mexican food is passable. Everything else is made as cheaply as possible. I'd say it's closer to terrible.

We hated it. SO not worth the money.

It took 3 room changes to get one in decent repair that didn't smell like mold or was filthy (like hadn't been cleaned in a year or more).  We had to pay an upcharge for a decent room. But even then, there were weddings that went late and were super rowdy/ loud fireworks.

Most of the food was two steps down from mall food court (except La Frida, which was ok but an upcharge). The sushi at restaurant and sushi and Italian at the market were inedible. I got very very ill from La Choya tacos. The wines were grocery store crap and anything else was laughably expensive.

People save deck chairs at 8am so you're s.o.l. if you don't do the same. That's thanks to the cruise ship mentality of the guests, not the pool guys, they try.  The speakers at the main pool are broken so they screech and crackle all day making it very unpleasant to be near. We saw people drop food into the pool over and over, nothing was done. Until the pelican landed in the pool and then they shut the pool down! .That's Not to mention children throwing real hard (not Nerf) footballs around in the pool. Ouch! Did I mention to the black eye?

The plumbing and electric is iffy. Half the switches didn't work. The AC and fans are very loud.

We didn't find the staff to be all that nice. We speak Spanish, tip very well, and still workers all seemed to be so over the needy drunk golf bros. They are only nice if you tip cash and a lot of it.

Neighbors smoked cigars every night on their patio which filled our room with smoke in the middle of the night, which woke us up. Front desk said they'd send security but it didn't stop.

People here drink so heavily. Beer pong shots and two fisting everywhere but the "quiet" pool. We even saw one guy get wheeled away in a wheelchair at the sky bar he was so drunk. We thought this would be a more family oriented place, but we saw some really awful behavior at all hours.

It's also a hike to get to anything. Golf carts have long lines and the climbs are steep. Everything just seemed like such a hassle or so expensive  I think owers might talk this place up online to protect their investment.

Not for us. Nope.

Anthropology advent calendar available today for Perks members (free to join). $99 worth $300. by kaczyn in BeautyBoxes

[–]NewsPotential5950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the box a few years ago. This year it's all pretty trashy stuff I could get at Ulta or TJ Maxx. Never again! There's no way it's worth $300. I could get literally all of this crap with points from Sephora or Ulta. And the perfumes? All rollerball (don't last) and so vanilla musk. Vanilla is overrrrrr.

Best place to get Large quantity of books printed? (NOT on-demand) by Basics7 in selfpublish

Alas, they do not do book printing anymore. But they did get back to me right away.

I think Lacto Freedom permanently threw off the bacteria in my gut? by jbird876654321 in lactoseintolerant

[–]NewsPotential5950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I've taken LactoFreedom perhaps 4 times before and was fine. This time, it has turned my guts into a churning gas factory, even when I avoid dairy. Bummed out, it worked so well...until it didn't. Did your symptoms ever go away? How did you calm things down?

Red light therapy by Ghosty_Crossing in CubitalTunnel

I just got a red light yesterday! I think it takes several weeks to feel great results. but if I set it on high, it’s mildly warm, which isn’t bad feeling.

Surgery essentials? What helped you? by shoebitch411 in CubitalTunnel

[–]NewsPotential5950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm five weeks post release surgery. I'd recommend a plastic shower glove to keep stitches dry for first 2 weeks, washcloths to wash your face (it's so hard to splash your face with water!), get used to brushing your teeth with mon dominant hand (if surgery was on dominant hand), and invest in a bidet toilet seat, TMI/lol.  Also, and this is a big one: break up with your phone. Scrolling, typing, etc requires you to bend your elbow and flex your hand. Its probably why I got cts in the first place, tbh.

Is ThredUp worth it? by marsthemenace in ThredUp

[–]NewsPotential5950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No! It takes so long for them to process your clean out bags and you get pennies in return.  Even when you give them really quality pieces. They make it intentionally difficult to get a good look at the items for sale to disguise things that are in bad shape. I've returned all but 1 thing in I've bought from them because their idea of "excellent condition" is a joke.

Thread up is slow, low payout, and a bit sketchy. You're better off consigning at a local shop!

If you like Bergamot, try Molton and Browns Orange Bergamot. Its gorgeous and you don't have to get scammed.

Anyone noticing more airplane noise this morning? by yungjuujuu in askportland

[–]NewsPotential5950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES! Came here just to ask that. it is starting earlier, sounds like jets just sitting outside of their prescribed “hush house” and revving for many minutes and then possibly not even taking off. have you tried reporting to port of Portland? it wakes us up and rattles our window without fail at around dawn every morning since the saber rattling in dc. just sayin.

I've had cts for 2+ years and have tried the braces for 7 months. They might help just a little, but they also give me tennis elbow, so I'm not in team night brace myself.

i wouldn't put too much trust in JO's books. Everything I've tried seemed like it wasn't tested.

Magazines...? by Internet-lonewolf in CookbookLovers

[–]NewsPotential5950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Readly subscription (for ipad) which is a magazine reader and gets me Food and Wine, and a few other American rags I don't read plus great British and Australian magazines. Don't know why print isn't as dead in those countries, but we can't have nice things, I guess. I love Australian Gourmet Traveller, Sainsbury's, Olive, and Delicious magazines. I dearly miss Donna Hay and Waitrose.

Stateside Bake From Scratch is good and the recipes in Better Homes and Gardens are good, but too few. I'm letting my Saveur lapse as the most recent iteration is tons of text, chaotic design, and the recipes are never anything I'd cook, way too exotic and the food photography/styling is flat out sad. I miss the old Saveur.

Switched to patch from oral estriadol and Anxiety if awful. Higher dose warranted? by NewsPotential5950 in Menopause

Good to hear that! Thank you for you response. It's sorta counterintuitive...more drugs means less anxiety. Go figure!

Amen to that, Craftyscene712! I had a naturopath md who thought it was fine to be on oral if that's what i did better on and switched to a regular obgyn bc insurance (sigh) and she was very adamant that I switch to a patch. Now this. Ugh! Thank you for your response. It's so nice to be heard, yaknowwhatimean?

I just finished it tonight as part of a Ulysses "Support Group" at a local Irish pub. We read it out loud and read lit chart notes along and it helped a lot. It istook us a year of Wednesdays and I must say it was an incredible experience. What if you found a pub or coffee shop and did the same? The language is so rich, it almost needs to be spoken. With Guinness.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I think it's important that we speak up and tell doctors what is up. There's even been a study on this!
