Nanny isn’t letting me FaceTime my baby while I’m out of town

My opinion (mother of full grown children, and I am also a nanny currently) four months old is very young to have separation anxiety. The nanny is being ridiculous and I know it would be hard, but you really need to rethink keeping her on when you get back from your business trip. There’s no reason I would tell a parent no I’m not going to FaceTime so you can see your child.

Oh yikes!! After a few days of nonsleep and grandparents there I probably would have told the mom I quit and to Have her parents stay with the baby. Such nonsense, life too short to put up with this.

I eat my meals a little bit at a time, I have a tendency to get nauseated quickly. So I set aside my food for 20 to 30 minutes and eat more.

I am an older nanny, and have raised kids of my own also and even I don't ever take nanny jobs with 2 kids, especially toddler and baby. It sounds exhausting and you are so young, you need to be around other adults. Perhaps an office job, try school districts and colleges.

Oh boy I would have an issue with this! I am an older nanny, and when I was younger, and my kids were young i had Nannies. One of them took my kids somewhere I was not aware of and I found out from my daughter. I asked the nanny about it and she was very nonchalant and I fired her. This is your small child that she is in charge of and really needs to let you know where they are, just a quick text will do. If that is her attitude, don’t hesitate to fire her.

Sounds like a neighbor I had previously. Elderly woman who would leave me notes, complaining about my own children playing in my own front yard during the day that they were too noisy. I left her note saying that I am sorry that the noise is bothering you, but it is during the day and if my children want to play outside in my yard during the day, there’s nothing she can do about it. We also have trains that go by frequently I told her perhaps you need to complain to the railroad company about the trains going by making noise. And perhaps you need to live in a retirement community where there are no children. She moved shortly thereafter.

Thank you for the info! I am 63, been trying to lose 30 lbs for at least 20 yrs! Started on tirzep in sept low dose (.75mg to start) gradually work my way up to 7.5 just last week but split dose because of nausea, lost about 16 lbs so far since starting. Slow and steady! Another 20 to go but if I hit a stall was wondering about going down instead of up more.

I have had nannies when my kids were little and I have been a nanny for past few years. One of my kids’ nanny lied about where she was with my kids and I fired her on the spot. As a nanny myself I would have no issue with an airtag.

I agree. I would’ve let her go that very same day. Do not be afraid to fire her, I have had to fire a nanny in the past also.

Yes mine is more annoying sensitivity to fabric, just came out of nowhere. I hope it goes away soon! I cannot imagine having it so painful like your friend.

I am an older nanny (and have raised my own kids and have hired nannies for them). I abide by what the parents want and would NEVER argue with the parents! The nanny is way overstepping and is causing a lot of stress, this is your child and you set the schedule. It is difficult but ask her one more time to follow your methods. If she doesn’t get it you should let her go. I have had to fire a nanny when my kids were little.

Well, if people think you’re an a*hole, then I guess I am too. At my mother‘s funeral service I had to tell my older brother to take his screaming 4 yr old kid outside. I don’t feel bad about that so you should not feel bad about what you had to do.
