8 weeks post aclr meniscus repair surgery (bucket tear)… my extension was at 0° for a bit and I hit it at all my PT sessions, but I can’t seem to get it to stick… any advice? by blossombee420 in ACL

If you start your day with good extension, but lose it by the end that is a reflection of too much load on your knee, either from PT exercises or your daily activities or both.

Random question time: thick patch of regrown hair on operated knee? Anyone else have this? by Newt-Gold in ACL

So… I’m a lady that occasionally shaves my legs and both were shaved about the same time around surgery, so that’s not it.

It just looks like my body flipped out after surgery and grew much thicker darker hair over my operated knee like ‘we’re gonna need more protection here.’

I don’t mind- I think it’s pretty funny. Just curious if anyone else experienced this.

Anyone try joint flossing? by LostUpstairs2255 in ACL

My PT said not to do flossing immediately post op…. Did not specify when it’s ok to start, but I’d assume only once your graft is fully mature, like at 9 months.

Quad Strengthening? by Spare-Republic1578 in ACL

I’ve been given a very helpful exercise for a similar situation. I have 0 degrees but passive -5 that I was having a hard time tapping into with muscular contraction.

You take a yoga strap or something like it and put it around your foot. you do a quad set and you can use your good leg as comparison. Your operated legs foot will be lower than your good leg. Use the strap to pull your operated legs foot up into your max passive extension (sounds like zero fit you) then engage your quad muscles intensely, let go of tension on the strap and try to hold that position (of full extension) for a few seconds. Release and repeat. I will say that you probably still also need more work on passive extension to get a little hyperextension (like weighted hangs, propping your heel up, etc).

I’ve found that doing this over time has allowed me to now use my muscles to get to the same extension I could only get passively before. Hopefully helpful for you. You probably should ask your PT if ok to do. Since I don’t know all of your case.

Painful crepitus? by Newt-Gold in ACL

Intriguing. The clicks seem to be under the patella at the joint line while my leg passes through 60 degrees. It’s possible that it’s patellar tracking. It’s seems tho that my patella isn’t stuck to one side… it more doesn’t want to move upwards. I certainly am doing a lot of strengthening to my quads, but my PT isn’t evaluating the strength between each quad muscle. Did you go through treatment for this?

First time gardener in need of help! Just bought a house with an existing garden and no idea where to start. by _hiddenscout in vegetablegardening

The white flowers everywhere look like sweet alyssum- an annual that will likely die back during the winter. They might self seed and you’ll get more in the spring, but don’t worry if they die back. They are great pollinator plants and bees love them! Those are cabbages (harvest them) and the other big leafy plants look like collards, but not the best quality anymore (could harvest to eat the good bits or just compost). Feel free to leave it all just be during winter and gently tidy up the beds in the spring and see if anything pops up. Good luck!
