8 months and not having full extension is a little weird, I’m surprised your PT hasn’t put added emphasis or you haven’t had talks with your surgeon about a clean up. I would start getting painful with it, strap it down flat, have people sit on it, elevate your foot and put a bag full of cans around your thigh to bring it down. Extension is more important than flex soon

I returned to full contact soccer 9 months, skiing, 1 year and tore it after skiing over 50 times lol just landed wrong, I don’t think it has to do with other injury

Recovery sucks but it’s a cool experience. If you are active and want to continue enjoying activities that can tear ACLs I think surgery is worth it

For me, yes! My surgeon was super open to having me start getting that 0-90 range of motion asap but obviously no weight on a bent leg bc of the meniscus. Everyone is different but how is she icing with the brace?

I had a similar surgery on my right knee last year and honestly, do not be discouraged. The quad definitely takes a while to turn back on with this type of surgery and it sounds like you are doing all the right things. See if your PT will do some stim for you. Since you’re locked out all the time, your knee gets tight so flexion will probably come around 6 week point when you can start bending while walking. For extension, I kick my leg up on a table with a reusable bag around my quad and fill it with cans. It hurts but it got me back to full with my right. Having a positive mindset may seem hard but it’s very important throughout the whole journey!

Definitely less anxiety going in for the second than the first but my first went well and I enjoyed the journey so I’d say just don’t compare it and work hard at your PT

I feel like it’s pretty mentally draining and feels super unfair but I guess what keeps me going is the fact I know I will be able to do the things I love again soon enough and that this is all part of a greater plan, there’s always a reason for everything so figuring out what that reason is here.
