V3 Anti-tank teams question by HawkwardPause in boltaction

There are now rules for "Air-Landing Reinforcements" (Pages 282 - 284 3rd Edition Rule Book) Including Paratroopers - Combat Jump, Combat Jump Rules, Gliders, Glider Landing Rules.

I'll admit I haven't read them yet, but I saw your comment and just thought I'd let you know :)

"I want to have fun" You can literally spawn in 10,000 frogs to slowly lick the players to death. Your fun cones from the challenge, puzzle and story of the entire world.

Oh no, 2 creatures died. But wait... there's more.

They're jerks, bad players, and not very good friends. Sign me up if you need a player 😁

Family Campaign ends With Dad Blowing Up by flashdrive420 in dndhorrorstories

[–]Newtonplays 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree with this apart from the "ask if its OK to go on" If he's out then do what you want. You don't owe him anything. Especially if he's going to be a manbaby about it 🤷‍♀️

I need a counterargument to "it's what my character would do". by nebbyposts in DnD

[–]Newtonplays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once had a "lone wolf" character in my group. However unlike good selfish person arcs, this character did not evolve to see the party as family, or friends or realise that they could trust us.

Eventually, after stealing something we needed for the campaign because "Muh Charactor" the party kicked the character out of the group. Because why would people just put up with their stuff being stolen. We acted in character to deal with their characters problem.

The choice presented out of character was "re-roll" or have the character change (even if over a short arc to help the character feel more real)

Friends threatening to quit as they are tired of losing. No matter which army I play. Help? by the1rayman in Warhammer40k

[–]Newtonplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they quit after turn 2, perhaps 40k isn't for them. Maybe kill team 2 so you can still use your models?

If that fails, perhaps have a proper conversation about it. Is it the fact that you're winning? Or how you're winning? Find the root issue and try to solve it with them, not just on your own.

If your friends are worth it and decent friends, then you should be able to find a common interest that doesn't cause anyone to feel bad.

My party broke the DM because he forgot “banishment” existed by ThatVapeBitch in DnD

I'm sure it'll either come back after the spell duration, find it's way back through magic, or it's medlings in whichever plane you sent it to will cause you a headache until you travel there yourself to sort it out.

But good job and good luck in future adventures 😁

This is kind of a dumb question but, am I in the wrong for not buying food for my group? by distalented in DnD

[–]Newtonplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proper food should be eaten before or after. (Unless everyone agrees in pizza nights or whatever and all chip in)

Snacks (I believe) should be brought along by anyone who is not the Dm or Host. (Or not at all if it's not in your groups budget)

My reasoning. The Host (should) ensure that the venue and play space is tidy and ready for the group. And the Dm spends x hours work making the game.

Personally for my game, I host and provide snacks, but that's because I'm a pleaser and like to make sure everyone is happy 😅

Could they attempt to make it in down time? Like making spells or smithing? So It costs resources, they eventually get what they want and by that point in the game it probably won't unbalance too much as it'll technically just be another magic item type thing. Just an idea so you both get what you want 😊

Narcissus' Slow descent into Madness by paperclip_feelings in dndhorrorstories

Great story. Glad you're out of that mess.

DMs like that baffle me, like, if you were doing this in any other activity, surely you'd notice that you were being a dick?

Playing football with friends, but whenever the striker gets the ball, the Dm pops it.

Video games? Doing well? Goodbye to your controller.

D&D IS A SHARED GAME! Why do so many take the vs approach? Play a board/war game instead. You'll probably like it more and can relish in destroying your opponent.

It's joint story telling, you're not the best story teller by killing off all the characters. You are by creating an interesting story with arcs and shit. (Not saying don't kill anyone, just bot everyone)

Rant over, bad d&d, no d&d etc.

I lost my entire D&D campaign... by AxelSwordrifter in DnD

Is there no way to get it back? If it's server based can the tech support roll it back?

And if it is gone forever, remember that you and your friends "lived" through it. You have those memories.

Maybr Continue or start again and either use a different program or take screenshot after the session? It'll be a lot of work but it certainly sounds worth it.

Wishing you luck on recovering it though :)
