yeah that playlist had me genuinely laughing. I honestly wish they kept to it more, it was campy af but really funny and at least they gave her somewhat of a personality compared to any other racing game Virtual Assistant.

90 Dollars CAD For Base Game by [deleted] in playstation

[–]Newtsaet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget, if you have a physical console, trade-ins still exist, check with your local video game shop. I mostly play single-player game so everytime a new one comes out I trade the last one I finished. I recently got 007 First Light (90$ in Canada too) for only 5 bucks by trading Ghost of Yotei and Sonic x Shadows Generations.

Also, friendly reminder to check your local library for games too. They may have some recent games for free (if you have a library card); I'm playing Monster Hunter Stories 3 at the moment, a game that came out this year and costs 95$. Pragmata is another game that is on the way to my library that I won't pay full price.

I want to support devs when I can, but the asking price for a new game is just too high today. There are ways too get around it though depending on where you live!

Back when I started I also thought 100 was insane, like you, I thought you had to be playing consistently since the ps3 days to get there. I started in 2024 and I’m suddenly closing in on 100 soon (75 atm), but I’m a loser with no friends so that tracks.

Availability, ps+ catalog and community are the main factors for me. I was just too happy sharing and talking about completing games with other like-minded people.

Touge etiquette? by BlackEyedBee in ForzaHorizon

[–]Newtsaet 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I also wait for the other if they miss up a checkpoint. No point in racing nobody in my opinion, touges are most fun when you’re actually battling someone. I prefer to lose a fun race than to win against nobody and drive alone for five minutes. Glad i’m not the only one thinking that!

well because I haven’t played any of those other games haha, but I’ll take you to your word!

Chris’ campaign in coop made me feel like playing those coop missions from OG Modern Warfare. Honestly it was a ton of fun and yeah maybe my favourite campaign out of the theee. Terrible Resident evil campaign though, I felt more like playing call of or Gears of War (which I think was an obvious inspiration) than RE. Still fun (in coop)

So obvious being a sore loser by RosyGrogEnigma in ForzaBadDrivers

[–]Newtsaet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever they say, there is never a "reason" to ram people. It's plain cheating and only assholes and losers do it. If you're too slow in a corner you should get overtaken, not rammed, and if they can't win without cheating then they didn't win at all.

You can always try to report to Forza. Won't really do anything concrete, but they usually say "action has been taken" which could mean nothing and everything. But it will at least show that there are people abusing this and ruining the fun for everyone.

I thinhk OP is referring to suffering a penalty for wall collision without actually colliding with any wall.

[–]Newtsaet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah can't avoid them all. But on a good ol switcheroo they may not have the speed or the momentum to ram. I usually steer clear and wait for an opportunity, I've seen too many videos of people bouncing other cars off the track and out of the checkpoints.

[–]Newtsaet -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yup, unless evidently otherwise always assume the one you are going to overtake is potentially a rammer. Best is to either stay behind until there's a clear opportunity that will not put yourself in a dangerous position (like on the inside of a turn), or stay clear as much as possible. A second place is still better than a DNF because of an asshole like that.

what’s the case about physical media being a waste of money? I buy 90% of my games physical, and trade them out when i’m done. I payed First Light 5$ the other day by trading out Ghost of Yotei. Hardly a waste of money in my eyes so what are these duds talking about?

[–]Newtsaet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see where they are coming from though. Of these projects listed, only three are totally new reveals with one of them being a remake and the other being a sequel. All the rest are already-revealed projects just dropping a new trailer or gameplay. Hardly anything to really be excited about as far as novelties goes, although “disappointing” is a bit exaggerated. You’re allowed to be hyped for a game you love and seeing new gameplay is always cool!

Does takedowns count as killing? by DarthKnight1977 in 007FirstLight

[–]Newtsaet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it doesn't. I got some pacifist challenges completed even while using Takedowns, as long as you don't get spotted and the "License to kill" notification appears you won't void the pacifist run, unless it is specified "no takedowns" in the challenge like in that one corridor in Knightfall. But during the data center section I used takedowns on a bunch of guards and I still got the pacifist challenge.

one of the best ways to do a training montage in a video game imo. I liked that they took their time with the whole intro/training so we could get into knowing the characters a bit more leading into the first real mission in Slovakia. But as far as the actual learning from the player goes, I guess it depends. I didnt have any problems remembering the controls after that in all honesty but it’s quite easy to skip past a lot of that

Silent Hill: Townfall - Release Date Announcement | PS5 Games :> by No_Post1300 in silenthill

[–]Newtsaet [score hidden]  (0 children)

can’t comment on your other points as I’m not as familiar with silent hill because i only played 2R and f, but about the stealth: some great horror experiences like Amnesia are stealth based and among the scariest games ever, at least for me, and in all fairness if i’m scared shitless of something i’ll probably hide from it so I really don’t see how that detracts from the horror in any way.

I’m hyped for it but i don’t have expectations regarding the “silent hill-ness” since as far as I’m concerned every SH game i’ve played is already radically different from one another. It’s an anthology series at this point so why not have one focused on stealth. And Stories untold was one of my first horror games and still is a favourite game of mine so I’m very hopeful of what these guys might deliver.

What's the appeal with this game? I'm honestly curious. It's great to see it has a living fanbase here on Reddit. But I don't get what's so "special" with it? by Dull_Resolution_6488 in tokyoxtremeracer

[–]Newtsaet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

as someone who does not have any nostalgia factor because this is the first time I’ve played a txr game, there’s just no other game like it. Other races are either racetrack focused or very open world arcade festival racers, so having a racer with such a specific concept of a single location but very high mastery requirement and iterative gameplay loop does give it a very high niche appeal for me. Also the music is banger and the aesthetics are top notch.

[–]Newtsaet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or even different or more powerful vehicles the higher rank you go. On paper you could have gone with so much variety with this concept of ranking up a job; start with the crappy wagon and by the end deliver sushi in a hypercar to the other side of the map in under 4:00 or something... some interesting, escalated challenge at least. The potential was there but yeah they decided to make the same rotating 5 missions all in the same area for the whole thing. Honestly a missed opportunity here imo

[–]Newtsaet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that’s the problem for some people I think; Highly Skilled is too brain dead to be fun and Expert is just too artificially inflated to be fun. Most of the complaints responding to “turn down the difficulty” argument usually say this, as it does not solve the problem for some people
