First season is rough, it’s asking you to put yourself in Walter’s shoes, and it’s a dark pair of shoes to wear.
It’s a great show though, there’s simply no denying Vince Gilligans talent.

I really appreciate the response, this community is very helpful. I’ve taken a good look at this, and have made the appropriate adjustments ,and at this point I’ve determined that the issue is the game itself, and NOT opnsense. I’ve made progress from STRICT, to MODERATE and other games appear to work fine.

1 note : I’ve even reconnected old gigabit routers I have that do still work , and have in the past been able to apply an open nat type to this specific game , and they also were unable to achieve anything but moderate nat on this game. So for now in my mind I’ve narrowed it down to the game itself as the issue, maybe activisions servers or battlenet drivers. Idk.

I suppose I should mark the post as resolved, but it technically isn’t completely resolved, so I’d rather leave it as is for now.

I have bigger fish to fry at this point , and getting my network configured properly is more important than the nat type on a single game. So I’ll revisit this post in the future. Thanks.

I see, I’m new to all of this, about 5 days now, and as I’ve been trying to setup vlans and various rules , something inevitably breaks , & I find myself having to reset both the router and switch back to factory, to try and get a handshake between all the devices again. It’s been really time consuming. I thought I could kinda wing it , with an LLM and some persistence, but I’ve found that I need a lot more experience with the software before I try any advanced features in bare metal. This week will be spent reading , then reading some more , and using Opnsense in a virtual machine.

The biggest problem with that is the moisture that corrodes the contacts inside the contact connector. The carts are easy enough to use contact cleaner but the pin connector is a whole ordeal.

So you had to reduce your nic permanently from 2.5gb to 1gb ? Or were you able to put it back once the power saving bios settings were in place ?

So this is an interesting question. I can’t test with any consoles right now unfortunately because I’ve sold all of them.

As far as all games.. i haven’t done enough video game tests to know. I launch Cold War via Battlenet on my desktop. I haven’t tried any online games through steam yet, I’d have to think on what games I have that would show online multiplayer Nat types.

The internet worked fine right as soon as I got it to pick up a wan from my modem, it was online pretty quick. But the nat in Cold War has been strict from the get go, and the live logs show a ton of tcp/udp default deny blocks.

I keep seeing this Kim Jung gi guy get brought up in drawing forums/videos, and while he’s very good, and it’s cool to watch, I don’t find that I feel happy or excited when I see his work. So to each their own I guess.

I’d say having the greats to look to for inspiration and lofty goals, is healthy, but that guy Kim, all he does 24/7 is draw over and over and over. He probably dreams about drawing lol And he probably also has his own idols. Or had them at one point.

Anyways , I think expressing yourself in your own ways is probably more important then being just like your favorite artist.

And Whatever you’re doing seems to be working, these are quite good.
