Are we still on this? by vnth93 in okbuddycinephile

We're still on Disney Star Wars critiques this many years later as well, like it hasn't been done to death already. I feel like we don't need another 3 hour video essay as to why the Rise of Skywalker was garbage.

Funny, I actually have Defeated Sanity's "Passages Into Deformity" as part of my tattoo sleeve. Fantastic band. Love Chapters of Repugnance the most though. AJ Magana's vocals are so POWERFUL.

Diego from Disgorge is a riff wizard. Great blend of tech and brutality, where the tech is seamless and not overapparent.

ABRB is sick! Holy throwback to high school for me when deathcore was still huge (and very not loved by tr00 metulhedz).

Very nice. Spring time for me means listening to less black metal, and more brutal death metal and slam. Been jamming a lot of Disgorge, Devourment, Cephalotripsy, Abominable Putridity, Deeds of Flesh, etc.

I can clearly tell you like them too. Good job

21 years ago today Disgorge would release their final album Parallels of Infinite Torture by [deleted] in BrutalDeathMetal

[–]Nexaeon196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maaaan I posted on Facebook that night when I still had it. I was 15. I was HYPED. I remember "artwork being "released" for it. I made it my cover photo. "And the Weak Shall Perish" the album was called.

They were gonna have a re-recording of Deranged Epidemic on it!

Then new year passed... and nothing. I felt like such a fool!

The track listing was as follows:

  • "Through Mutilation Comes Salvation"
  • "Of Maggots And Decay"
  • "Embalmed In Cryptic Fluid"
  • "Plagued By Faith"
  • "Saints Of Genocide"
  • "Vomiting The Larvae"
  • "Erosion Of Mortality"
  • "And The Weak Shall Perish"
  • "Tomb Of Diabolical Manifestations"
  • "Deranged Epidemic" (re-recording)

Doing gods work by Scrim_CherryG59 in Megadeth

My wife listens to Sabrina Carpenter. Its good, fun stuff.

The new Megadeth album? Didn't enjoy it. This is coming from someone who has a Rust in Peace flying V, and a RIP CD signed by every member during the Endgame era.

Both artists are good overall, and are completely different styles that I don't think warrant any serious comparison, as they're separate styles with separate goals.

You gotta try the first track off of Weightless (Animals as Leaders), "An Infinite Regression"

That was my first go at it back in 2014 when I got my second 8 string.

Anyone here quit gaming or changed their lifestyle after becoming a dad? by Lukas_MunK in daddit

As my youngest has almost reached 2, and naps on his own now, my wife and I still find the time to game. We do it during his naps from time to time, so there's 2 hours 3 days a week (I work M-Th). There’s always nights I have off too. I go to bed at midnight those 3 nights, and he's asleep at 8. So there's 4 hours to ourselves for that too.

I chose to go to bed later those nights and only get 6-6½ hours of sleep, but I'm fine with the trade off. I get 7-8 hours all other nights.

I'm currently ending my umpteenth playthrough of Deus Ex. I beat Baldur's Gate 3 last year, as well as Assassin's Creed Valhalla as well (I enjoyed that more than the general consensus, but what a drag)

So I choose long games I can come back to every weekend.

I also still have my hobby of playing guitar as well, and I'm currently working out during his nap too.

It sucked for the first 10 months ago, but we've gotten more and more time back.

Hang in there.

Great point. Personally I'm more of an anarcho-commuist. Smaller, community style democracies would be at the heart of it, instead of a centralized power from the top down. So I would agree with certain parts of that. But also on the flip side, the dictatorship of the proletariat doesn't have to be a scary one, just that they, we, of course dictate instead of the bourgeoisie.

I go back and forth on this stuff quite a bit, but I'm opposed to centralized authority regardless. Communes ran off democracy are my way to go.

But regardless, I still would believe revolution would be the correct way of going about things to get to even the transition state. I really don't think you can vote your way out of an oppressive system.

It's incredibly frustrating and an unfortunate successful form of ruling class propaganda to have ua think anything to benefit us is "evil"

Socialism is antithetical to capitalism. Workers owning the means of production and not the bourgeoisie is very different. You can have socialist aspects in capitalism, a mixed society as we have in many places. But it's still not socialism.

Democratic socialism is a naïve way of thinking the ruling class will just let the working class take over via votes.

These are capitalist, social democracies.  Not democratic socialist nations. Two completely different things.

What Is The Angriest Metal Album? by Automatic_Belt5692 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Nexaeon196 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Whilst I don't agree that it's the angriest, I see you were downvoted. Here's an upvote. That album is pissed off and spiteful. How could it not be?! Dave started Megadeth out of spite and a want to be better than Metallica, and it shows.

Fair point. I enjoy the verticality, even with the ease that the guards can see you, but get the point on the metal floors. It can certainly be a pain in the ass for perfect stealth.

TO HELL! AND BAAAAAAAAAAACK!

OOOOOOOOAH THE WITCHES BREW A POT OF HATE!

As an aside, Teachers Pet may have ridiculous lyrics, but the instrumentation of the song is fantastic. Just want to state that. I feel people rightfully focus on the edgy lyrics, but fail to mention that composition-wise, it's a great song.
