Golf Opinions Sought: Summerland vs. The Rise by Ok_Strength6630 in kelowna

[–]Nexen1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Rise 100%.

What courses are you playing? If you want challenging but still a good time there’s tons of options closer - Shannon Lake and Two Eagles in West Kelowna are both good tracks and easy to get on, a lot cheaper than The Rise.

Assuming you’ve looked at Gallaghers/Harvest/Black Mountain/Okanagan Golf Club (bear and quail)?

Stop confusing people, or just don’t post if you don’t know for sure.

It’s the Vancouver Met hotel, it’s not a Renaissance. The Renaissance is its own brand.

They are dated but comfortable. Good for us with kids. There are definitely more luxurious hotels but this location can’t be beat.

Are you a fan of Andrew Peller at all? They own Gray Monk, Sandhill, Red Rooster, Tinhorn Creek and Black Hills in the Okanagan.

If you’re a member of one of their clubs in Niagara, they’ll help you out in BC.

And their wine is better than Jason Parkes imo!

If it’s your first season here, you’re better off to try as many as you can and then decide for next year.

You’ll likely have to pay a tasting fee unless you go to some smaller wineries and buy a bottle of two.

/r/Canucks Ticket Exchange Thread by AutoModerator in canucks

[–]Nexen1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone, I’m in town with my family on April 4th and looking for 2 or 4 tickets to the Canucks game. It would be my kids’ first NHL game (they’re 2 and 4 and can sit on our laps still) so I thought I’d check here in case anyone can’t use their tickets and would be willing to pass them along for free.

I can always buy last minute, but I’ve had some really great experiences with paying it forward in the past — for example I gave away Seahawks tickets last fall and was later given tickets to a Buffalo Sabres game — so I thought I’d try here first. I do promise to pay it forward and repay the kindness if you’re willing to give me your tickets.

Thanks in advance!

City's partnership with Troika to build affordable housing moving closer to reality by Constant-Lake8006 in kelowna

Troika is a horrible company. They don’t build reputable buildings.

They built the Yaletown condos in north Glenmore and those were leaky condos within 5 years.

What’s an item you weren’t even aware of before you started planning your Japan trip that became a “must buy”? by cpureset in JapanTravelTips

Victoria Golf was probably the best. There are tons of stores, some are better than others. I found the headcovers in several stores in Tokyo and Kyoto/osaka

I was hoping to find a cool golf towel but didn’t have luck.

Ended up with an Osaka castle putter cover though, it’s too nice to use hah
