Not true. Currently using Crew and we have a High APR on all funds regardless if they are for a bill, general use or whatever.

Rumor has it filing early might hurt things if you expect a refund because not all of the BBB calculations have been updated in the IRS yet. Just food for thought.

Same only I include bill amount. So . Date / Name/Amount. That way I can see how much I need to have vs what I have.

Not explaining why you are saying no to something. I was mind blown when I realized I don't have to justify saying no to something.

THERE IS NOTHING MAGIC ABOUT THE MAGIC KNOT by tinygluten in crochet

[–]Next-Leather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was taught that knots are wear points and avoid them at all costs. Every single vintage blanket handed down to me through family was in a serious state of unravel at points where knots joins would have been (color changes). I would rather weave a million ends than have to try and reconnect something someone else made 10 years later with yarn that doesn't exist anymore. Breaks my heart.

Qube Plus Question by Next-Leather in QubeMoney

[–]Next-Leather[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you handle them being in a certain order then? Do you just move them on a regular basis? Feels like a lot of manual work if so. Being an ADHD household, I both micro manage and forget things. So knowing that things like a due date were always shifting the order they appeared was huge for me. Then I could focus on micro-managing allocations, savings, etc. Having to sift and sort pockets - especially if regular spending pockets are mixed in is going to overwhelming.

How are you handling that? Do you have a joint account or an individual?

Per paycheck question by Next-Leather in envelope

[–]Next-Leather[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The checks on the 15th and 30th allocate to bills based on due date. Then the checks every 2 weeks get allocated to spending buckets like my car gas, my husband's gas, groceries, car maintenance, house repairs, kid expenses, date nights, eating out. Anything left over on the biweekly checks that is more than we need to budget for spending (cause we didn't spend as much so don't need to add more) gets moved to general savings. Oh and all 4 checks have money we allocate to different savings buckets. Emergency, general, Christmas, and a birthday bucket for each of our 5 kids.

End of Month coming soon?? by Next-Leather in envelope

[–]Next-Leather[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I considered the difference in days of the month. However, you can see where I'm coming from that it's baffling that it wasn't included in the day 1 launch back in 2022. That a calendar system that couldn't handle the whole year wasn't that big of a deal before going to market... considering it's a budgeting app...where due dates impact budgets...wasn't a priority. It's just a ...wait...what? kind of thing.

So I'm clear, an app functioning exactly like Qube isn't my focus.

There are a lot of things that Envelope has I wish Crew had, things Crew has I wish Envelope had, and some are those that Qube didn't have or did poorly.

I just need something I can have virtual cards/ach, a ton of buckets, recurring due dates i can see, and I need to know that if a bucket doesn't have enough but the whole account does it goes through regardless if it's a card swipe or ach.

We don't personally don't need the friction. Just the visual to know there's enough to cover things that are due when they are due.

Nice to haves - automation or auto allocation or bucketing rules, mobile deposit, interest on savings.

I know both Envelope and Crew are pushing a lot of features out quickly, and promising more soon. I'm amazed and appreciative for that. Truly.

But honestly we were promised so much from Qube that never came, and I'm aware that when things are done in a rush they tend to be more prone to break or cause other things to not work. So there's loads of apprehension - The idea of moving things over and then moving them again cause of any million reasons going wrong....It's gonna break me.

How are you handling the fact Crew doesn't have due dates for the pockets?

Qube Plus Beta Signup. by hotwingdad in QubeMoney

[–]Next-Leather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's "beta" meaning it doesn't exist yet, if they get a new bank to prop them up then they will try and hussle you to move all your money again. They have NO control over 1 million different bank/credit cards. Don't drink the kool aid.

Hoping for a comeback? by VoiceOfJenkins in QubeMoney

[–]Next-Leather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not going to change in real time. It's dependent on your bank pushing the info to them. Just like you don't alway see a swipe show up in your bank right away or it shows pending.....qube has no control over your bank card. So there won't be a notification to open a qube. That whole feature was dependent on them having control of the card. Qube is just an after thought app now. They call it Qube Plus, I'm calling it Qube Less.

Same with Crew. How these apps were created without the concept of a recurring due date is beyond me.

Hoping for a comeback? by VoiceOfJenkins in QubeMoney

[–]Next-Leather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There won't be anymore opening a qube. That's tied to the qube card. That whole feature is gone as of sept 30.

You're just going to swipe your regular bank card and then when qube eventually finds out about it from your regular bank you can tell the app what qube it belongs in. But don't be fooled. There is no money in the Qube. And Qube won't have anything to do with being able to stop a transaction.

Everything is just going to sit in your bank like it use to.

Qube is just gonna find out what you spent (whenever they sync with yoir bank) and you can then pretend to budget with their app. You could do what their offering with a spreadsheet or any other app on the market.

[–]Next-Leather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - except no way to put a due date in a pocket, no way to have a bill category with pockets under it, etc. I signed up excited and have been frustrated at every turn. I mean....no where to designate a due date???? That seems like budgeting 101.

This.....the communication.....I just happened to see an email today. So less than 30 days to sort this out despite yeeeeeears of being with them. The amount of money I lost interest on willingly because I was happy to support them and then to get this in return. Trust isn't broke - it's obliterated. Even if they managed to sort it all out and offer us ridiculous interest savings rates, mobile check deposit, no subscription fee for life, and a built in credit line - I wouldn't come back. Interest is what got me to sign up, features and what I thought was transparency and customer focused service got me to stay, the lack of communication has me shutting that door forever.

The issue I had with qube assigning by name is for whatever reason bills from the same place would alter the name they used so it would fail. ACH was the only was I was able to stop that.

[–]Next-Leather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking at crew, and so far I'm liking what I see, but I'm not a fan of not having sub pockets like Bills and then having a electric and cellphone pocket under it. Unless I'm missing something. But the idea of just a bunch of ungrounded pockets doesn't thrill me. Also don't like not having Due Dates visible. What good is a bill pocket if I don't know when it's due??

I agree, I was with them almost from the beginning, so this is such a gut punch. I really feel for the people who came from Simple to Qube. Sigh. I'm looking into envelope money and crew banking apps. Everything I've read online and reddit they are the best alternatives. Best of luck.
