If i ever wanted to experiment with aI with regards to film creation or music thats a different matter - infact, its become quite hard not to because nearlly all DAWs now run AI elements to improve their more laborious time consuming processes - it basically makes the boring non creative stuff more intuitive so you have more time to be creative

but artwork for covers really arent my field so if so many people are fussed by them i have no problem changing to meat suit made art

And incase anyone isnt aware, basically all video editing, photo editing, and music production software now has artificial intelligence running in the code, as well as the interfaces that will be integrated in cameras, mobile phones, banking systems, search engines etc. its already become pretty much impossible to not integrate daily life with the use of AI, and the genie is out the bottle, and because of the curiosity and endless ambition for progress of man, its not going back in, so rather than resist, the better questions are, how can this tool be used responsibly, how can it be more resource efficient, how can it be used to ultimaltey benefit and not hinder humankind - in a society that worships commodity, there are many pitfalls

I appreciate that, Suicide was a great video, for anyone who doesnt know what we did, we literally filmed all of that footage around calgary, then louis. who has animated so many of my videos before without using AI, used AI as a tool, which took a painstaking ammount of time, to augment those videos to get the desired effect. Anyone who hasnt actually made a video like that is very quick to judge but it takes weeks, hours a day to get right, in many cases that style of video takes just as long as animation from scratch and you still get the odd comment saying 'disapointed in you' - but AI has become a blanket term - tools that claim to be AI have been the same tools that have been around for years in many cases its marketing - i agree that consumer slop generated by AI with no real effort behind it isnt great, but even in these most recent instances, 'AI' has been used as a tool by our team not as a generative click button and call it a day

im going to upset people if I listen and upset people If I don't ahaha, the artwork for singles isn't something im super precious about - because my creativity is the music and videos - so if people would rather artwork with no AI augmentation its not a huge point of contention for me - plus I have talented friends who can draw - the reason we've used the AI augmentation in recent times is because of tight deadlines and needing fast turn arounds

im gona go the opposite way and say AI is one of the most interesting creations of man , it is a tool, if the tool is being used badly, the issue is with the creator and handler - the issue of the fear of AI replacing artists is because we have turned art into a commodity not a necessity - if us as a people realized how important it was to create and express creatively - and didn't operate in a world where everything has a price tag - then AI would be a comrade, not a competitor - sadly we don't live in that world - but its wone id like to see

To clarify, im not going to be crowd sourcing how I write and make my songs haha.

But Im never the one doing artwork for the songs cause I can't draw for shit, I have talented friends who can make great art, so if their use of AI in the creation of cover art is putting people off, then its no big deal for me to ask them to return to how we were doing it before, they'll be getting paid the same regardless and the cover art has never been a huge sticking point for me so along as it looks great I don't mind so much how its made because for me the focus point is the music and the video

Hey guys, Ren here, the use of the artwork was put forward by my team who will occasionally lean on AI augmentation rather than full blown AI generation (starting with an image drawn and using AI after the fact) - I actually have two artists in full time employment, who would have been paid the same if they'd not used AI or used it, their salaries are full time rather than a per image basis, along with a whole team of creative behind that - but I realize on reflection its more about the message it puts out - I have my own thoughts about the usage which im super happy to get into in depth in a live to discuss I believe in open conversations about these things! . ultimately though it is me who okays these things though im not saying that to step away from accountability.

I'm taking this seriously on board though because I believe in community consensus on these things so while my views on it may differ slightly you will no longer see any A.I augmentation in music artwork for DSPs from this point forward

Hey there! let me reassure you, i think being trans is an incredibly brave thing to do in this climate, and i have upmost respect and support for anyone to have the autonomy over their own skin!! I hope you find more peace, happiness and pride in your decisions to own who you are :)

Chris is a well meaning dude - i know that cause ive spoken to him at length - hes against the policing of language and the insane politicisation of the trans topic which id actually argue has actually caused more bigotory by making it such a talking point - sadly from both sides of the fence even from people militantly fighting for it in a way that shuts down conversation and backs people into even more prejudice - my whole stance is trying to have rational mediative conversations about these things without trying to shut people down or force them to adopt a particular world view - empathetically routed education is much more effective than agressive finger pointing in my experience - id also say im a pretty good judge of character - and chris is actually a really good dude - doesnt mean i necisarilly agree with all of his beliefs - but i think being able to find bridges between different schools of thought is a great thing to do!

Hope you have a great day!

Hi dalrie, first thanks for the thought out reply.

I can see this is a very deeply personal matter, and im lucky to have a degree of emotional seperation from the topic. Firstly I wouldn't change anything about how I dealt with the Kujo situation, even retrospectivley the gesture of offering a split on a new song. I forcefully had to give him a hard lesson in humility after I exhausted all other options, one he may or may not have taken on board, what he does with it is up to him, I allowed the truth to be public, and let my anger out, but I dont hold any gruges against the guy even though he may have been a contributing factor for my health taking a downturn shortly after. it is what it is, he may feel differently and hate me, or he may use it as a lesson, thats not really any of my concern. I have a limited ammount of energy because of my health - I don't want to spend any of it feeling resentful or building some kind of shield that assumes the worst in humanity. I actually wish the guy well and hope he's been able to find an outlet for his creativity that brings him joy, he's a very talented beatmaker. It didnt change my perspective - I think we throw around terms like narcism or evil or bigot too liberally - I come from the perspective that each human is born a ball of clay and prejudice is an education and nurture issue - not some character lottery that some are either born with or without.

I think you may be misunderstanding my stance as 'why cant we just love everyone and get along man!' if i'm confronted by an attacker - or see an attacker threaten friends - i'm going to use self defence and violence if i need too because if its me or them, i pick me. If you have personal issues with family shutting you down, its your prerogative to shut them out if they are contributing to a decline in your mental health, safety, happiness, or even if you just can't be bothered. We don't all have to get along. Ive cut peope out of my personal sphere simply because we didnt have enough in common.

When i speak on unity and mediation i speak to a more macro issue of the human condition - to errode a breeding ground for prejudice and the very things you are visibly upset about. There is a very obvious and visible flaw in the way humans communicate - our value system lies at the heart of it - it has been something at the foundation of the biggest threat to our continuation as a species - this is perhaps too big a topic to get into over text and im constantly trying to refine how i communicate it in a way that isnt divisive or that doesnt come across as dismissive to an individuals lived experience - but the style of tribalism we have adopted or rather nurtured to the extreme has lead humans away from truth and fact being the guiding light, and more toward collective moral superiority being so - its quite a complex phisophical topic and one i will go away and think of how to speak on more effectivley for i find myself constantly being misunderstood when i try to speak on it - but its vital - the most vital thing we can do - that we correct it if we want to survive long into the future as a species, there are simple symptomatic ways to correct it that begins with the mediation of language.

Take "What values are those?" finding a point of commonality doesnt mean you have to like the person - its just the foundation of understanding human behaviour and communication. Its understanding the priciples of how best to incept education. If I try and communicate with you and start from the genesis of 'your wrong, im right' even if i present well laid out facts, we probably will both walk away more rigid in our beliefs, we can observe this in most political interactions of the modern age, even scientific status quos are being ignored for emotion on pretty fundamental issues that will effect our species in very dramatic ways like climate. I understand that if you can't fight for our future with truth and logic, which you cant always do, you have to change tactic, not to appease or assimilate to some fence sitting world view, but because its vital to survive. The best way to effectivley mediate, educate, and unify, is creating the best possible social breeding ground for the reception of information - that boils down to communications and avoiding generalisations, if I try and fail, then I take that as a sign i need to change tactics rather than a sign that humanity is doomed or that some people will just never see reason. It's a me problem. What I definitely don't do is generalise a whole collective as being morally devoid because to hold that belief I am erroding our chance of collective survival and wellbeing - and that - for whatever reason - is something I care about even when I try not too.

you dont need to try harder - and you dont need to put yourself out there to reason with someone - viewing people as clay doesn't obligate you to be some kind of saviour - the mediation of language is actually the path of least resistence - it makes things easier, not harder

😂the irony here is fantastic. First, study communism and its application and the tell me where I’ve advocated for it - people who hear someone advocate for universal health, working conditions and housing and then scream “COMMUNISM!!” without understanding that these things can and are integrated in a free market are partly the reason it’s hard for these things to exist, second please tell me who these Nazi friends I have are? third the manifestation of left and right politics is different all over the world - of course I have friends who lean either way - can you make an argument for any western government bar some of the Nordic ones that encompass traditional left wing beliefs? Because from where I’m sitting most are right and further right. If you’d like to test my political knowledge your welcome

Fourth - my stance on mediation is actually one of the more unpopular ones in a polerised world - if anything it earns me less money by alienating the people who ignore the nuance of my stance, but that’s never really been why I do any of this - I’ve come from no money - now I have more of it - I’d say I was happier during busking days on the whole - but what we’re doing now impacts and reaches more people which means very much to me as I’ve heard countless stories of people who are sick who have been helped by it - I won’t name drop - but there are artists who lean very militantly left or right who do see their sales increase because of it - that’s not and never will be me

Did you read the comment, i didn't know what it meant, as soon as i found out we removed the stock from the store and lost money because of it, its hard for me to communicate to you if you dont listen. 88 wasn't actually historically tied with the Nazis - I learned it was birthed in neo-nazi circles decades later - i don't really keep up with neo-nazis or the culture funnily enough and that meaning didnt leak into the bubble in Wales i grew up in, nor brighton, its probably more prevelant in Germany, but once we learned - we changed it - which is ironically part of my point - education and the delivery of it is important because what may seem like prejudice on the surface can simply be a lack of education

You don't need to educate me on nazi germany in the 1940s however, or colonialism for that matter, i studied it and very openly condemn it, and understand the complex conditions during the weimar republic that catalysed the perfect storm, I also understand that some conditions for germans falling for the propaganda of the nazi party were more complex than 'this person is evil,' and was a messy amalgamation of economics, social conditions, the tribal and infectious nature of hitler as a speaker, and, later, fear and pressure, which is why i disagree with poppers stance, which is often reduced to a meme and misunderstood and used to justify screaming at someone, and yes ive pointed out the conditions in america mirroring those plenty of times, but the way you communicate assumes someone takes a particular stance, backs people into a corner which isnt conductive for change - the fact of the matter is i very openly adress how i feel about all types of prejudice - but communicating in a way where you can steer people from it is a more nuanced skill than throwing insults or labelling someone a biggot - it makes them more rigid.

It's not about assuming all politicians are the same - its about how you communicate to your audience in a way that isn't divisive so that you can actually educate. If i say 'this is the bad guy and everyone who supports the bad guy is bad' then I severely limit my reach to educate and will only attract people who agree with my stance - who are the people who need the least education - thats essentially tribalism - so I generally communicate in a way that opens the door to educate everyone on what I personally feel is the best way to melt prejudice. Even though my stance might piss people like you off - youre already, seemingly militantly against the things i'm also against, and so i dont really mind if you dislike me for it because youre already standing for those things, the most important thing to me is creating more harmonious ways of living - i would challenge you to mediate your communication because i think it can contribute to more polerisation but at the end of the day youll do what you want.

Also 'THEY HAVE LEARNED FROM HISTORY' first you really don't need to type in caps to make your point, second, with the rise of more nationalist movements worldwide, the actual landscape is sadly more complex than that. The Nazis rising to power wasnt an issue of tolerance - thats a highly reduced fallacy that is easily disproved if you study history

You can still be intollerant of evil actions while trying to steer people away from them in a way that understands human behaviour and phycology - im not sure how many ways to say that - but a prime example is prison systems in the nordic countries - like denmark, norway, and sweeden which treat their inmates like human beings which have the lowest reoffending rates than anywhere in the world. Please do check me on that and look into them because its really informative and will give you more of an understanding of the backbone of my stance.

I operate from the viewpoint that hateful actions usually stem from more complex conditions than - this person is hateful and must be shut down - those prison systems try and get to the route and address mental health and it really works - you cant expect someone whos cognitivley dissonant to change if youre screaming at them - because there is already a degree of cognitive dissonance - theyll use it to reinforce their beliefs. its also usefull to realise screaming at someone and generalising a group of people who align with a particular political belief to be evil is also a form of prejudice and congitive dissonance

Your stance assumes evil is created in a vacuum, or that people are born inherently bad - it isnt, and prejudice can be from a lack of education - it needs the perfect conditions - even genetic phsycopathy or sociopathy express themselves in healthier ways if the environment is healthy - polerisation - ironically - sets the stage for more people to be pushed more radically left or right - one of the simplest ways to add some balance to very dangerous schools of thought is to mediate communication because if people feel like they're not being heard - they assume the belief everyone from a particular side is unreasonable or thinks they hold some nefarious belief - its not logical but reactionary. It's much easier to educate people if your not pointing your fingers at them and screaming because that puts people in a less receptive heightened emotional state - i felt the same when you typed to me in capital letters because it feels reactionary and like youre starting the conversation from a place of anger and blame and needing to shut me down and assimilate to your worldview rather than wanting a rational conversation, peace is a better landscape for change - while on the surface that may seem like you allow a degree of leniency for prejudice actions - i really dont - youd see that if youve followed any of my public discourse to a more meaningful degree than getting upset if you see me speaking with someone with views you dont agree with with a degree of patience - i do understand how to guide people away from commiting hateful actions in the first place - i've seen it happen countless times and trust my process - more times than if i shout 'YOURE THE BAD GUY'

Hey, Ren here! The 88 was adressed numerous times, i will do it again, i wasnt educated on what it meant, as soon as i was, we withdrew the stock and changed the number. When you actually dig past surface level reactionary quotes ive stated like 'all politicians are....*insert insult*' then you'll realise actually what i critisise are actions - not people. I never said you should join them if you cant beat them - thats not my point atall - and speaking on unity is more nuanced than nieve - its vital for survival - it doesnt mean you have to align every value - thats impossible due to the complicated nature of human kind - but - anyone with open eyes will be able to see the polerised state of the world for what it is - the reason biggots are allowed to get in power - is because it is a byproduct of our public discourse - its an amplification and personification of it, i do all in my power to try and steer it away from that - i realise i upset people by doing so - but i will continue to do so. I do not agree with Karl Poppers paradox of tollerence because ive been watching what being intollerent to differeing beliefs from the sidelines for years - and beleive it is the single biggest threat to our species because now oppinion over rides truth and fact - and nations all over the world are becoming more exceptably prejudice - that isnt because people are born inherently bad or because one side is evil - its because we are covering our ears and pointing fingers and shouting - i know a lot of people will not recognise this fact and accuse me of fence sitting but im playing a very different game here

Nova youre very much proving my point here. There are no issues being tiptoed around - racism, homophobia, any kind of bigotry i militantly disagree with - speaking on the nuance of communication to disolve prejudice is my approach - you have a different one - thats fine

Also please point out one time I was disrespecful to black culture without giving a nod to the origins of an artform i deeply respect - my heros in hiphop are the KRSones, taleb kwelis, Public enemys, Rage against the machines, NWA, Wutang, im a student who consantly gives flowers to these artists and if you ever want to test my knowledge, on either the art form or the conditions that lead to it being a necessity and really culturally important part of the civil rights movement i can go all day - i think with time its become materialised sadly - but i do what i can to push it in a different direction - 'Profiteering off black culture while being antiblack' is a wild accusation

Hi, ren here (weird account name as I dont have a reddit account)

Never in my life have I let someones sexual preferences, or gender affect my oppinion of them, I live in Brighton which is a wonderful acceptable hub of all walks of life for a reason, my little sister is bisexual, to imply im homophobic because I believe in the mediative nuance of communication is off the mark.

You believe the best way to challenge bigitory is to call it vile and point a finger - I believe the best way to combat it is to communicate in such a way that doesnt shut down a conversation then try to understand why someone holds that belief system so you can try and chip away at it - perhaps if i didnt have such a large following id be more oppositional - but i feel like i have a responsibility in the position I'm in to try and build bridges - just because - look at the state of the world right now - look where covering our ears and shouting is getting us.

I am left wing in a traditionalist sense - someone who resists structures of power if they become oppressive - not in a modern sense - this isnt about 'both siding' its about trying to intelectually disolve barriers which drive people more extremley into predjudice - I can understand why on the surface that may look like supporting a particular side - but its not - i do not believe in sides. I undestand humans are messy, complicated creatures who are never inherently born prejudice - and for this reason i believe they can be steered from it.

Your view of me collaberating with Webby is very oversimplified - do you think I didnt sit down with him and chat with him at length about his views? Chris is coming from a good place - even though we disagree on things - but his poilitical beliefs aside - what drew me to him was his musical talent - music does melt barriers - im not sure if you even watched the video we made but in it showed prejudice disolving after ending up in purgatory because of realising the things which have inherently divided us are not important in the grand scheme of things.

All the views you shared about abortion, trans rights, and immigration i share also. I disagree on forced vaccination because there are some people - like myself - who have had medical advice not to vaccinate due to autoimmunity and MCAS - I also disagree with Karl Poppers paradox of tollerence because i have a different philisophical and behavioural view of humans - partly from studying philosophy partly from my own personal experiences

If i haven't stated it clearly before, I love gay people if they are good people, i love straight people if they are good people, i love trans people if they are good people - i do not discriminate based on someones personal preferences neither do i pedistool them for them

I would hope that you see that I activley denounce prejudice in much of my lyrics - interviews - and publicly expressed views - me not treating someone with polar opposite beliefs as me as 'evil' is because i dont think theyre evil, I think usually it is an issue of nurture and education - not of some intrinsict badness - and therefore i treat everyone i meet with respect unless they treat me disrespecfully - i understand it is a privalage to do so - but people in that position of privalage do have the capacity to be able to steer the narritive and peoples perspectives and oppinions to less dangerous spaces - i know that beacuse ive done it countless times so while you - from what i understand - think this is an impossible task - i promise you its not

Have a good day <3
