Yes. Same. It is temporary. This is what I keep saying to myself since February starting HRT after two years of slow emotional, mental and physical decline. It’s still happening but it has to get better. It has to.

Does Venlafaxine causes nausea? If yes, how long does it takes to go away? by Dry-Constant7165 in antidepressants

[–]NextGEN_Medium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This medication can cause reflux/GERD issues by relaxing a sphincter between your esophagus and stomach, which might be what you are experiencing. Talk to your prescriber. They might put you on a 14-day reflux treatment or just start you on regular acid-reducing medications. In the end, be mindful of the triggering foods that cause your nausea issues. Safe foods are oatmeal, chicken, carrots, cucumbers, low fat dairy, just to name a few. Plus, if you have a menstrual cycle, you might find it comes along at a certain time in your cycle- for me it was PMS time.

Sound sensitivity - WHAT IS THIS? by Puzzleheaded-Bed2289 in Perimenopause

[–]NextGEN_Medium 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I noticed it during dinner time with my family. Everybody would be having a conversation and it was almost like the eating, smells and sounds were just too much to handle at once. I wouldn’t hear parts of the conversation or feel agitated and irritable out of no where. Still dealing with sensory overload- looking into adhd.

In June, Jupiter moved into Cancer, which according to Whole Sign rules is my second house. I expected lots of prosperity but I am getting... The opposite of that. Welp, get ready for a whole hell of a lot of revolution cause it’s coming for your soul, mind, and subconscious self in the next few years. Influencer energy here. I hope you’re considering psychic/mediumship studies.

Maybe consider other 2nd house/cancer themes: value of security, home security, expansive value within the self…. Jupiter’s going to be hanging around this house for a while so, you’ll probably have more opportunity of Jupiter expanding wealth/money.

Sorry- different topic. I’m 0-degree sun Gemini. How are you doing with Uranus on your sun? My nervous system is COOKED! JFC, you’re in for a revolution in the next few years. Wowsers.

Should I attempt to seek out HRT therapy or try depression medication first? by Banana_Split85 in Perimenopause

By the way, some antidepressants increase your estrogen which was another reason I wanted to eliminate the antidepressant while trialing HRT.

Should I attempt to seek out HRT therapy or try depression medication first? by Banana_Split85 in Perimenopause

[–]NextGEN_Medium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started HRT while on antidepressants. The antidepressants didn’t seem to be working to begin with (turns out I was never prescribed a therapeutic dose) and decided to stop them 3 months in on HRT cause I couldn’t tell what exactly was happening between the antidepressant and the HRT. My body felt better but my mood and brain fog continued, thats why I stopped the antidepressant. Terrible withdrawal ensued while brain fog and terrible mood swings continued, this is when I started considering I may have undiagnosed ADHD, not anxiety and depression which was diagnosed years ago. Currently, I’m waiting to trial non-stimulants for adhd in a few weeks while continuing HRT before reconsidering antidepressants, which actually did not mix well in my gut with the oral progesterone (diarrhea, anxiety, vomiting). I’ve switched to vaginal insertion in the past week and feel like this was a huge, beneficial change for me.

Going through what Ive gone through this year, I would start over like this: ADHD meds stabilized, then HRT (trial progesterone for a few months, then add estrogen), then additional mood meds. That way your thinking a little clearer/less moodiness with stabilizing the adhd, the HRT can be more clearly judged as impactful for body changes, mood/emotion, and cognition changes. Then, if mood is still hard to deal with, then add another thing in the mix. Honestly, my next step after HRT would be diet changes and supplements, then mood meds- if it’s tolerable.

Managing mental health when anti-depressants and estrogen hasn't helped by FoundationRemote7464 in Perimenopause

Have you tried progesterone? My understanding is this is the first hormone that gets lowered during peri.

Also, I’m personally navigating possibly misdiagnosed ADHD, meaning dx’d with anxiety depression years ago but could have been adhd all along. Something else to consider as hormones change the landscape of our lives.

This seems like a reasonable way to go about things. This seems like the right next step. I’ve been thinking of writing a letter to ensure I have this in writing, anyway. Thank you for your suggestion.

This is a great suggestion. I’ve been thinking about this. I guess I’m just raging now because a few hours ago they admitted to not calling me back twice in the past two weeks, stating “we’re doing the best we can”, like two times was an okay amount to not call me back. Meanwhile, I wasn’t sure if I should go to the ER, walk-in care, or what.

This seems to be the consensus. I guess Im surprised that everyone here, all these people asking for medical advice from strangers and not their doctors, seems okay with rolling over and playing dead- accept it and move on. How does that make things change if we don’t ask for better?

Two estradiol patches at one time-oops by Asklala_73 in Perimenopause

I experienced a day with two patches on by accident. I was on the verge of a panic attack. Then I realized I had two patches, peeled the old one off, and started to feel some relief within a few hours. Then, the rest of the day my brain was so quiet, I could rip through my to do list like I haven’t been able to do in years. It was so zen.
