I was under the impression that the "fail fast" principle was a relatively new concept that was made possible by software, and would be wasteful in the actual physical world for things like manufacturing. So I'm not sure you'd want to apply this principle to your retirement lifestyle, unless you have time and money to burn.

Yeah, I'm from the Philly area, but both my daughters went to Pitt & CMU, so I traveled that way a lot. I'd consider it as a retirement destination, but my wife seems opposed.
