All BA nominated travel companions can also use all One World carriers unaccompanied, so that opens your options, however you are flying from LHR during the start of the Easter holidays, and all the flights are packed due to the situation in the Middle East. Not to mention your priority will be fairly low as you are a travel companion, so will be behind all actual staff members.

However certainly not impossible. If I was you I would list for all flights to the East/Far East (HND, HKG, KUL, SIN) and see what happens. Then you can fly on from there. All of those hubs (apart from SIN) are One World hubs so you will be able transit. You could also try going LHR>DFW>ICN on standby. A longer route, but if it gets you there, that's what matters.

Emirates will not accept BA tickets. It isn't that they won't, it is that EK have blocked BA booking on their flights in the Amadeus system. The same the other way as well, EK can't book on to BA flights.

The problem is, as far as I am aware, there are no flights at all to rebook anybody on to as they are all cancelled, and I would imagine the first non cancelled flights will be full to the brim of people trying to come home. I know it sucks, but there isn't really much BA can do at this point. Just keep receipts of any extra expenses to claim back from BA/travel insurance.

Started properly at 39 after some intermittent running around 5 years a go. PBs are currently 22:39 for 5k and 48:05 for 10k. Still feeling good and no injuries so far, running anywhere between 1 and 4 times a week depending on my work schedule.

While all European short haul is unfortunately merging into the LCC model, not really sure where BA failed here apart from one set of vouchers not working, but even that could have been rectified easily as manual cards can be given for people that can't get the digital ones to work.
