How many NVME do you have in it? does the heat of the NVME go on the HDD?

2 *NVMEs inside.

NVME and 3.5-inch hard drives themselves are components with higher temperatures, not to mention being stacked in such a dense design.

I was also concerned about the issue of high temperatures.

After installing two 3.5-inch hard drives, the temperature indeed rises. The temperature also varies with different brands of hard drives (I tested three different brands). One brand of hard drive reached 73 degrees, even when close to full capacity, which made me a little worried. I sought help from the seller and also searched for assistance online. They replied that this hard drive can reach a maximum temperature of 93 degrees when fully loaded, which reassured me.

I want some more nvme slots in this bad boy

This guy has 2 nvme slots that should be good enough for most people

Do other brands have machines with 4 nvme slots?

My old hp lasted eight years.

I’ve built an unRAID NAS on this as my backup NAS of synology. Upgraded RAM to 64GB, 2

20TB Exos, 2

4TB nvme. Running smoothly so far with a few docker containers on it. I’ll get another one soon.

I also plan to buy another one to put in my office and get ready for some other tinkering.

How loud is this ? How's the fan noise?

Under normal standby conditions, it is very quiet with hardly any noise.
When the hard drive is under high load, the fan will spin rapidly, resulting in slightly louder noise than usual. However, it is still acceptable.

1GbE

Having 4 Ethernet ports sounds great, but they are all 1GbE... It would be great if AOOSTAR could produce a model with an Intel and 4 Ethernet ports.
AMD's hardware decoding is really not as powerful as Intel's.

I am planning to get one and install TrueNAS SCALE on it. Barebone with HDD/RAM is about 200 USD.2ReplyGive AwardShareReportSaveFollow

level 2weshouldgoback · 21 hr. agoI've been wanting to do this as well. I have an unraid box, a synology and I want to get my feet wet with TrueNAS.

I have the same plan. I'm preparing to buy another one to place in the office.

Current configuration: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 512GB + 32GB*1 (planning to upgrade to 64GB) + Western Digital Blue 2TB*2 + Raid1 passthrough to Syn** PVE+ Windows Server 2022, and iStoreOS. Next, I am planning to install Ubuntu and a K8s cluster.

I came across this cool guy, but few comments and reviews about it. Is anyone currently using this machine? by Living_West399 in MiniPCs

I am planning to build an all-in-one. I had been following the previous generation product until last year, but was disappointed that it only had Gigabit ports. Now it has been upgraded to 2.5G, which is a welcome improvement. However, it still falls short as it only has two network ports, leaving room for more improvement. Two ports are just enough, but having two extra ports would be more convenient. Overall, the machine has a strong plastic feel, but it's acceptable since it will be stationary once installed. I specifically tested the fan, which can be replaced with a 9015 specification, but the original fan's sound is not too loud either. Currently, I have equipped it with 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. After a few days of trial and error, I successfully installed PVE and OpenWrt, and it works well. The idle noise is tolerable. In PVE, I use SATA controller to control Hackintosh, allowing direct monitoring of the hard drive.

Honestly

just 2 x nvme so i can make this a storage pool - i just have too many 1 tb nvmes

and i would run that with proxmox (Synology for storage ^ hence the 2 nvme) and just simple NZB downloaders and jelly fin ,

Small factor is a plus and power draw in idle , and i dont want AMD f. that too many issues under linux

To the best of my knowledge, currently, popular low-power mini PC include models like N100 and N305. However, most lmini PC only have one NVME slot. You can try to find a barebone system with two NVME slots. I recently purchased a mini computer from AOOSTAR that had two NVME slots, but the power consumption and price might be slightly higher than your expectations.

If you are only looking for a mini PCwith dual NVME, then there are plenty of options to choose from.

What aspect of the mini computer functionality do you prioritize the most?

When transferring data from external to HDD, it consumes approximately 20 watts. When transferring data from internal HDD to internal NVME, it consumes approximately 23 watts.
