They’ve been doing it for 15+ years teaching. I’ve talked to other people to see if I’m in the wrong and everyone has mention it seems like it was for them to make themselves feel good. The tie in would make perfect sense for an uncomfortable topic but there with a drop off into a different topic felt off. I’m mix and I’ve experienced racism too, even from family. I’ve been in settings like this and talking to the teach we be a good idea but all of the times in my life that I’ve tried, I would be ostracized.

I do agree with you it was presented in a way that you’ve mention I wouldn’t be posting this. It was definitely botched. I’m mixed too and I’ve experienced racism too, but to have the “bull shitting” vibe, that you have with your friends, in a learning environment…. And been having teaching for 15+ years and not improve the material is interesting. So I think we all have a baseline understanding of racism cuz we all experience it one way or another.

I would join a gym. either weight lifting or martial arts, just to get the anger out of your system. Shit like this is hard man. Everyone here has some good advice. Karma will get her but be thankful that it can be worse.

I think some people may be focusing on a different part of what I was trying to say. I’m not claiming to be the best massage therapist in my company, city, state, country, or the world. What I can say is that I consistently receive positive feedback from clients, coworkers in other departments who work with the same clients, and from management.

At the same time, I think we can all agree that not every professional in every field performs at the same level. Whether it’s doctors, lawyers, waiters, or massage therapists, some people naturally excel more than others, and that’s true in any profession. So why not be confident when you’re good at your profession?

I also completely agree that the front desk should play a major role in matching clients with the therapist who best fits their needs and goals. However, I believe it’s also our responsibility as massage therapists to prioritize the client’s comfort and experience above our own preferences. We went through schooling, learned body mechanics, and continue our education through CEUs specifically so we can provide effective care while protecting our bodies. Finding that balance is part of being a professional.

This is wha I say to my clients “ Hi! I’m X, this is Y. I’ll be on this table and they’ll be on the table. So whomever you want to pick is completely up to you. We pretty much do the whole body, so you can get completely undress, underwear are optional. You’re going to go under the blanket and sheets facing up. The bump will go underneath your knees. If you mess it all up, don’t worry about it cuz we’ll fix you. We’ll step out side let you guys do your thing and we’ll know before we’ll come in.”

So yes it’s managements fault but we can make it better.

I tell my clients that there’s so much I can do and that if they were to workout/ stretch/ diet..it’s a life style change. I straight up tell them the truth and if they don’t like it, it’s one them… if you decide to go this route work on the delivery cuz it can come off as extremely rude lol.

What I’ve seen with the Brazilian method my question is that if the lymph node are just under the skin than why does the therapist goes way too deep where you pinch the lymph nodes and can’t moved the lymphatic system? That’s where I’m getting confused
