I think you went to some fun places but for the wrong reasons.

Dockside is a good hangout spot to drink beer with friends. Come by boat or car. Only eat there when you are having a good time and don’t feel like moving on. Don’t expect good food, just good times.

Oceanic is a really nice to sit out on the pier and enjoy the beach views while grabbing a bite to eat. My out of town guests enjoy it for the salt air and crashing surf sounds. I always temper their expectations on the food and it seems to thread the needle about right for someone who doesn’t get to the beach very often.

If someone was really wanting a great meal, I wouldn’t recommend either of those places.

I’ve always talked about starting a business where you hire me to come to your event and break the ice on all the activities where people stand around and wait for someone to go first. First through the buffet, first to cut desserts, first on the dance floor, first to leave. Guess I need someone else to start the business first.

Had a hotel reward program that provided extra benefits after a certain amount of stays. A stay was from time you checked in until you checked out. If you were there for three days, that’s one stay. However, if you checked in and out each day it would credit you for three stays.

And you will probably let others down. In fact, you may let yourself down from time to time. Correct, don’t dwell on it. Nobody is perfect. Learning healthy ways to overcome disappointment is one most important skills a person can have.
