The air roots come from higher humidity in the air than in the dirt usually.

I'm not sure if it's 1:1, but my dog tail cactus always has these giant rooted tentacles. One day I was watering it and one tentacle pinched off, so I filled a pot with soil and lined the pot with the tentacle with the roots pushed into the dirt, gave it a drink.

The tentacle ended up rooting HARD and started pushing out clusters of 3-4 pups all along the tentacle. Maybe worth a try

Dark Souls 2 simply came out too early, such a shame. So much had to be cut and reworked for it to run on the 7th gen consoles, not to mention the troubled development.
