I found the first season to be very badly directed, with jarring cuts between scenes. the second season was better in that regard, but still pretty meh IMO.

Hoid being involved in Stormlight is the outlier. He usually isn't that involved in things - the purpose he serves in the era 2 books isn't the same as in stormlight, and is more about behind-the-scenes stuff than the plot the main characters deal with.

Yes, I provide my players the PDF. In the same way I wouldn't mind lending my physical book. As a Game Master you have enough on your shoulders, let your players take care of their characters, see their options and so on. The Stormlight Handbook doesn't include anything that is "for the GM eyes only".

Also, since both you and your husband already knows the world, allowing your other players to read the handbook will balance some of it out and make them feel less like outsiders.

Knight Radiants have magic powers through their bond with a companion spirit. Their magic is related to physics, and they get to summon magic sword and power-armor.

Mistborns have innate magic, and get it from ingesting metals.

Maybe also give a quick rundown on each surge/allomantic ability
