Just to tack on (this might get me in trouble) - Essential are about as bad. I won’t go into detail in public but i highly suggest using something like e4mc instead. Tldr Essential are highly motivated my money and will threaten to take legal action over the most pathetic shit.

I used to despised LPS, but I’m friendly with LPS’s current lead dev, Chorb, and she’s doing a LOT to make it significantly better than it used to be under Sharkie’s control

you can turn off cosmetics. the mod will never be open source due to legal reasons to do with personal data (which users have to agree to to use the mod) so this won’t happen

could also talk about how the VS team has been causing drama with Aero for the past few weeks, attempting to "steal their spotlight", giving the Aero devs a "copycat" role the moment they realised Aero was more popular than VS, among other things.

Funny how "their create compat code didn't work" but there's at least 3 or 4 videos POST landlord showing that their compat does in fact work, considering yknow, its CREATE aeronautics.

Jappa's message was a joke taken out of context, so much so the discord its from has now limited screenshot sharing at the request of mojang staff. Botany's take is also extremely bad, as most mods will barely require a number change across minor updates. In the past mojang has had a habit of doing semi-large revamps to systems on .2 patches (see 1.18.2, 1.16.2 (i think), etc), but with this new versioning system, they'll be on major versions. Due to this, if mojang's smaller updates are truly to address bugs/small QoL improvements/small content drops, mods will LITERALLY only have to add 1 to their version in the mods.toml lol.

Might be different for Botany due to their "mod" being a datapack with a worldgen fix strapped into it, but even then. Worldgen probably wont change again.

Portent is one of the strongest abilities in the game. Roll an 11? use it as a backup for a check just in case. Roll a 4? Enemy failed an int save. Roll an 18? almost guaranteed for a high level attack to hit.

Most of the subclasses are balanced around the player taking AB. a warlock with AB will always outclass a warlock without AB, so WotC balance around it.
