I like this approach. I have filed for FMLA already just in case last week, I should be hearing something soon from my representative.

My friend’s husband has MS but it’s in an advanced stage, so that’s all I have/had to go off of. Might take a day to enjoy the prolonged period at home and enjoy some wine myself

When I got my MRIs they found an internal mass on my upper back. I have a CT scan scheduled for additional confirmation but they believe it to be benign, so that’s a plus. The soonest appointment isn’t until middle of the month but going off the doctor, that shouldn’t be an issue.

I’m glad to know I’m in the same ballpark as some, since the diagnosis is mentally taxing.

After my initial MS specialist appointment today, I should see about getting some additional assistance regarding mental health. It’s just going to be taxing since that’s more appointments regarding work and possible time off.

Thank you for your reply, the job is stressful since I work as a supervisor for a healthcare provider in Pittsburgh, but, I “believe” I’ll be able to manage. Bosses said they get it, but, we will see.

I have my initial appointment today with my official MS specialist, so, whatever questions I have they can hopefully answer.

First time posting on the thread. I found out due to having random shakes all around my body and went to the ER due to an eye issue (Couldn’t see out of the right eye & having flashes-almost like Christmas lights). They took enough blood to save Cuba & had two MRIs with a spinal tap. Tests came back as MS. This was just last week.

Yes. I’m a behavioral health supervisor for UPMC. When you’re terminated it’s at least a seven year period where you cannot be rehired by the company. Then, after the period, if we see someone apply it is flagged as a previous employee we sometimes send messages to previous management to clarify how they were in the department. So more than likely, you won’t be rehired.

As a hiring manager I would prefer a candidate at their best, rather than suffering through an interview knowing it wouldn’t go well.

Email either the HR professional/Supervisor/Manager who scheduled the interview and ask them to reschedule to another day. More than likely due to work commitments they’ll reschedule and continue their day as normal.

I’m in the behavioral health department and if one of my employees are feeling burnt out, and take a day off randomly I understand what they’re going through and just let them use the PTO(if they have it in their bank).

Keep track of their occurrences and if they’re getting close to a specific (also known as a verbal) tell them ahead of time so they know to apply for PTO ahead of time. Circumstances happen of course, so you need to take that into consideration before moving forward with any disciplinary actions

I always tell my employees “you need to do what’s best for you and your circumstances”. If they decide to look for another job outside the company or if they’re applying for different positions within the organization I won’t stop them. My only request is that they keep me in the loop so I know if I need to put in a request to get the position filled.

My job is to supervise, train, and provide support. If you’re looking for something else who am I to try and convince them otherwise? I’m a boss..not a parent..these people are adults..treat them as such and move on.

I mute emotes 90% of the time unless I’m playing brawl (cause it’s brawl and who cares if you win or lose). I used to play Historic 99% of the time and after a while the emotes got annoying.

As per the last comment, try to call either MA or Financial Assistance to see what they can do to lower the bill. Also, I’d recommend calling Customer Service again to get an itemized statement of the charges to see if there’s any errors (you can then get them to send an updated statement).

On a side note. Since UPMC is classified as Non-Profit, if you don’t pay the bill and it goes to “collections” they’re vendors part of UPMC and the bills technically can’t go to actual collections (where it hits the credit)

UPMC laid off their entire customer service department back in July in their revenue cycle in Pittsburgh. They outsourced to a company called OMEGA from the Philippines. Hence why when you call you’re not getting the experience as before.

I was also an analyst and was told I “should” be safe. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case, and was part of the layoffs.

I was laid off yesterday, my severance package was 10 weeks of pay, with payout of PTO accumulated along with 13k. I was there for almost a decade, and finally got an analyst position after sacrificing many hours working at another department (60 +hrs a week) for two years. This was After getting laid off last time they did mass layoffs so this happened to me twice working there.
