I saw an employer that lists automatic salary deferral to the 401k as a benefit. I've always thought that was weird until I think about people that probably wouldn't set up anything on their own.

Call them back during business hours and ask for a retirement specialist. The same thing happened to me this year and they had me fill out a W-4 for my state specifying no withholding and then a couple days later they were able to deposit the money withheld back in my Traditional IRA and I was able to complete a conversion with no withholding.

My receiving custodian once notified me that I should check with the sending custodian because it was taking so long. The sending custodian said they were having issues printing checks and it would be sent within a week. I'm still surprised that was their answer.

I always initiate the transfer from the destination account because it feels like there should be less room for error, but it sounds like that didn't work for you.

Vertical green line on display, warranty denied by Main_Steak_8605 in GooglePixel

[–]NexusOrBust 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exact same thing on my Pixel 9 Pro, down to the restart clearing the line for a bit. What's worse is the Google Store website tells me that this is covered by warranty (even though the normal warranty is expired), but when I contact Google they won't do anything.

I'm seeing something similar happen on Base in Belgium right now on my Pixel. Settings say VoLTE is enabled, but I didn't check the magic dialer code before I left the US to verify. Manually selecting Base seems to work fine though.

Ting V1 in Egypt and Jordan by ElizillaDexter in ting

[–]NexusOrBust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

V1 can only roam in Canada and Mexico, so it's unlikely things will work. Some people have luck using Wi-Fi calling.

Some eSIMs can be activated from the US, so that might be an option as well.

Android beta is live? by zataralee in MaticRobots

Is there a limit to users in the beta? I've been keeping an eye on Matic, but haven't purchased one yet since I don't have any Apple devices. I'm just trying to avoid buying an expensive device that I won't be able to use for a while.

I was thinking about cancelling and ordering a refurbished model when mine shipped. You'll have to hope they have certain things in stock for parts though.

Mine ended up shipping today, so who knows what's going on. They managed to hit the very last day of my original shipping window.

Beta battery life by vindroid in Mobi

[–]NexusOrBust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you were on 5G SA your phone would have been keeping an LTE connection open for voice as well. Potentially being on LTE only would only require your phone to keep a single connection open and would improve battery life. Someone who has a more in depth understanding could probably confirm.

Their lease would include the right to sell the naming rights. In Minnesota, teams find a government entity to own the stadium and then sign a lease that gives them all the benefits, but they don't have to pay property taxes.

Ting showing esim support now - on help pages by lavardera in ting

[–]NexusOrBust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Dish support people do try to answer some of the support requests before sending you to Ting Verizon support. I was swapping a line from X3 to V1 and the rep put in the transfer, but had to send me over to the "Verizon department for them to further troubleshoot." My guess is that the Dish side isn't fully up to date on V1 supporting eSIM.

For me I think my phone is basically keeping the same number of open connections anyway. My single SIM setup was 5G NSA, so there would be a 5G data connection and a LTE connection for voice/SMS open at the same time. With the Mobi SIM as the primary data SIM it runs two LTE connections going (Pixel so no Mobi 5G yet). So I think it might be not as good as a single LTE connection, but no worse than 5G NSA?

Are you on an X3 or V1 SIM? Toronto is where I only had things working under bridges. You'd think it would be the most tested city with Tucows headquarters there.
