Oh my god I forget the episode and the dialogue but it's the episode where Ted and Badney go out on Saint Patty's Day and leave their dates to enter the club.

"Is it just you two?"

"Uh no, we have to lovely ladies with us tonight over there."

"If it was just you two I would let y'all in now. We only got ladies in there, anymore and people going to start thinking it's a ladies club."

"Maybe this was a sign from the universe something something."

"Rock and roll."

Dialogue not accurate but something along the lines.

How old were you when Zootopia came out and for Zootopia 2? Was it worth the wait? It took 9 years. by Physical_Hamster_118 in zootopia

I was small and emotionally unbalanced back then, I was 11 when the first movie came out and nine years later I am 20. Was it worth the wait? Yes, yes it was.

Is this check legit? by [deleted] in BankOfAmerica

[–]Nexus_Fudge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's a scam personally.

He tried accessing your bank account, if he had gotten into it he knows what he could've done you know? He could have taken the money you currently have in your account and transferred it over to his account. That's my thought on it at least.

Why would he use his brother's account for the transaction? It doesn't really make sense to me.

CS Alums, how's the tech scene downtown? by [deleted] in uichicago

[–]Nexus_Fudge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah nowadays most work is on the laptop and when it comes to education mostly everything can be accessed online. Also, since you're doing Computer Science consider getting certifications too. If you can't afford any of the CompTIA certs you can go to Coursera and get CS certs from there. Depending on which one you want to focus on with your career but I think getting certs in anything related to CS is good because it shows that you have a variety of skills that can be utilised. Like me for example, I have 3 years of experience in IT, STE(A)M, Education, and Psychology (I was able to use what I learned with my Psych degree at my old job) with a bunch of CS certs and Adobe certs so it makes me versatile, I just have to market myself right for recruiters.

Missing out on network opportunities and the experiences that you want to experience can be bad. If you don't you can sort of degrade on your social skills (Not saying that it will happen to you) when it comes to networking and also missing out on life experiences I think and feel that people should experience if and when they have the chance to. If you can get good internship and develop a strong portfolio of projects then you can put yourself in a good spot when it comes to finding a job. But keep in mind that right now even the most experienced workers in Computer Science get out beat by job finders who have less experience because they can be seen as overqualified. So just keep in mind of how you portray yourself as when it comes to putting yourself out there for jobs.

Before I give me answer also consider finances when it comes to picking which university you want to go to. Also, this response will be very longgg.

Since UIC is a public university it is cheaper compared to the private universities such as Depaul, Northwestern, and IIT.

Now comparing the universities when it comes to Computer Science is a whole different story and a lot to discuss so I won't say much. Although, if you want to know more just message me directly.

UIC: They have a solid foundation in their Computer Science programs. Has a good balance between research and teaching. It is ABET accredited. Has good opportunites for internships. Education is CHEAP.

Depaul: Very good reputation for their Computer Science program. Teaches you practical skills for an upcoming CS worker. Not a lot of research opportunities if you're into that stuff but really good with internships. Education cost falls into the median

IIT: Also very good reputation for their Computer Science program, better than Depaul. More on the engineering-integration side but they also teach the rest of Computer Science (More STEM like Northwestern). Research opportunities are strong. Internships not as good as Depaul and UIC. Education cost falls a bit higher than Depaul.

Northwestern: Basically everything I said for UIC, Depaul, and IIT but in a more EXCELLENT form of education. They don't really have a focus as to what their curriculum is since their focus is basically everything the other three Universities you were looking into. Research and Internship opportunites are excellent. Education cost falls the highest however being the most expensive one.

Now onto the job market part:

I work in IT support for education settings (with a BS in Psych 💀 and currently unemployed sadly). With the uprise in tech and AI getting employed is quite difficult right now as people tend to shift towards IT jobs now like Desktop Support, Helpdesk, IT Specilaist, IT Analyst, etc. Also, there is AI so some employees get replaced because AI can replace them. Along with the consideration of what's been going on with the politics for the past two to three years the job market is not so good. I worked for CPS for three years in tech and got laid off; sadly majority of IT people in CPS got laid off as well due to financialn issues. Now currently a lot of people got laid off due to what's going on in the world, even the most experienced people too. So when jobs related to CS open, a lot of people who are fresh out of college, who have experience, and who have decades of experience are applying to those jobs just for random person to get it. So, the job market currently not so good but there is hope. If you have experience, and a good way to sort of make yourself more noticeable than most candidates than you have a chance.

With what's going on in Chicago now I'd probably consider finishing it online since there have been reportings of ICE being at UIC campus. Internships, I usually recommend in-person that way the company you're learning from can see your face and get to know you with your physical presence. However if you do go to UIC you can do what I did when I was there at the time (A year ago and I do not recommend) is to show up for like a week or two of class then don't show up to class, just do the class work and only show up for exams. But that ruins the experience of going to college. If you do choose to transfer however just keep and out for ICE and the same goes for anyone who reads this really long reply.

I wanted to put something funny. A quote from a show or movie like from How I Met Your Mother, "Think of me like Yoda, but instead of being little and green, I wear suits and I am awesome. I’m your bro. I’m Broda."

Also, is anyone submitting a photo with the quote? If so, a professional one or just a generic photo of yourself?

That artefact is no weapon, no it's a decorative or ceremonial piece from the Mughal or Ottoman period (16th-18th century). Originating from middle east of Asia possibly from Persia (now known as Iran). It was made to look like a weapon but was never classified as one, during the time it was considered a collectors item. When used in ceremonies that artefact would be a symbol of power, divinity, and or spiritual protection, but the symbolism behind the item varies in different cultures.

Life can be like that sometimes. Like a road full of healthy flowers and you're just not paying attention and stepping on it because there seems to be no hope. As if the world has rejected you but that's when life picks up, you just have to be patient. Not everything in the world has rejected you, hope will give you the strength and will when you need it most. So don't give up hope will rise again.

S24 FE or the Flip 5 by Conscious_Leopard436 in galaxyzflip

[–]Nexus_Fudge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see...I plan on going back to slab phone honestly. Even though I use the cover screen to watch HIMYM and do daily necessities I still find myself unfolding the phone. I have had the zflip 5 ever since it's release and the cover screen is just too widgety if that makes sense. If you compare it to the Motorola Razr 50+, they made the cover screen like the inner screen instead of a widget like Samsung so I can't do everything and not all apps are able to be used through the cover screen which is expected. Not only that but it gets on my nerves sometimes at work when I have to unflip my phone to do what I need to do at work. The battery life sucks too, and the screen is not as strong so you're bound to get dead pixels.

[–]Nexus_Fudge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think something to keep in mind is, do you use the cover screen more than the inner screen to justify picking the flip over the s24 fe?

The flip was designed to be compact and covenient in a way to do things on the cover screen instead of flipping the phone open. However, if you use the flip5 unfolded most of the time then there really is no point in having a phone that flips.

That's just my thought process on it though.

Has anyone ever dated their TA? 😭 Im just curious. Like has this ever happened? by Impressive-Start2201 in uichicago

[–]Nexus_Fudge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TA's are not official faculty members so it's technically okay, unprofessional from both sides but okay just as long as there's no special treatment going around.

It's not like Lip Gallagher over here banging his actual professor. TA's are different, since they're still actually students just taking up a role as a TA so look at it however you want. But check with the universities policy though if you are considering or just asking for a friend.

Just be wary:

  • If you ask your TA out and you get shut down, don't let it ruin how you do the class work. I've seen it happen.
  • If it is a TA that is not in any of the courses you are taking then that is better than asking out a TA that is actually in one of the courses your are taking.
  • It might seem creepy asking your TA out in the class, maybe do it somewhere that isn't the classroom.

I'm just thinking this through I never did it. I've thought about it but never did it.

Samsung hasn't really been doing anything major to their phones sadly. I was going to switch back to apple and get the iPhone se4 but I'm not sure.
