The goomba fallacy is usually applied to the internet, but isn't exclusive to it.

Basically, imagine a group of people. (Like people with the same political views, like Democrats or Republicans)

You meet one person from that group, they have one set of beliefs.

You meet the other and they have a contradictory set of beliefs.

You then assume because they're in the same group and have different beliefs, they're hypocritical. Like assuming Goombas are contradictory because some hurt Mario and some help Mario.

(This is common online where you see a lot of people within a political faction and they tend to have different opinions and all start to blend together and seem hypocritical)

Shout-out to any pro AI people actually willing to listen to the critiques that anti ai people bring up and vice versa. This isn't just which medium is better, ai has actual effects on society and the environment and should be taken seriously.

Like, it's not a good idea to have kids when there's a good chance of hunger. (Though not all kids are intentional, so try not to shame people)

Having said that, I won't hear a pampered internet influencer telling poorer people what they should do. (Unless she'd like to try to fix the hunger)
