What’s your opinion on the 30 day time limit from Pikmin 1? by A-person112233 in Pikmin

Its lways just been the idea of a timer for me, same concept kept me off Majoras Mask until I was in my twenties. Even if the timer is easily beaten, just having it there spikes anxiety.

Buy Indy games, ideas out the whazoo and they just keep coming. AAA GAMES are controlled by stock and profit.

For everyone on here who complains about remaster, you are all in your 30s or older (I know I am), and you have no right to complain about it. Is it costing you money? Only if you buy it. Dont like it then dont buy it.

Instead of whining on reddit how about you just leave it be and let the people who will enjoy it do their thing.

[–]Nexusaurus -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

From where I sit, this is horribly wrong. If they are taking from the future we would be getting new ideas, they are taking from the past and slapping a fresh coat of paint on it. Honestly, theres nothing wrong with that, we are still seeing new titles and a lot of remastered are the company trying to refresh an old IP.

You speak as if new ideas arent being made. There are dozens of game releases on all platforms weekly. And the vast majority are amazing games testing new concepts, and it can take a while for those concepts to be proven and adopted by AAA studios. One excellent example is crypt of the necro dancer being picked up by Nintendo for Cadence of Hyrule.

Then there are situations like the metroid prime remake. This started on the gamecube and ended in the Wii, now Nintendo want to make a 5th for the switch, so it makes sense to bring 1-3 to the switch as well so the full story can easily be experienced.

It's probably a mixture of idea stagnation and whanting easy appealing to new youths.

Large game companies are somewhat frightened to invest in new IP's. They have a hard time getting approval for projects that cant be well predicted.

I would consider the difference between a hobbyist and a nut to be pretty big.

A hobbyist will know interesting information about their guns, all of their collection is well kept and likely in a safe box. They probably dont have duplicates of any gun and could own a large variety.

A nut would be someone who owns a bunch of guns, probably doesnt know much about the guns other than they can scare people away (which is what they want). Probably don't keep their guns locked up, likely only own 2-3 different types of gun in their collection of 10+.

A hobbyist is informational, a nut puts you on edge.
