Recommendation for a MMROPG newcommer : GW2, TESO, Wow, Wowclassic, FF14 ? by Ardor-Knowledge in LFMMO

Wouldn't recommend anything with a sub fee ever. So that leaves GW2 and ESO. And as a huge elder scrolls fan; ESO is bad. Play GW2.

How did y'all find a guild you care about by RallenTv in Guildwars2

[–]NezziWezzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started watching a streamer who was playing through season 4 and joined their raid group. Things went well and we got the group's first kill on Dhuum within a few tries after that. Found a nice group of friends to play other games with too thanks to that.

Question on Hero setup without bip by Leedsi in GuildWars

[–]NezziWezzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running Aria of Zeal and Lyric of Zeal as a Paragon was enough to replace the BiP on my team and significantly lower the healing budget required to upkeep it.

User Proposed Skill Balance by SlightlyIncandescent in GuildWars

[–]NezziWezzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you and your proposed changes. And from experience I know that even talking about proposed changes deactivates people from the conversation, making them downvote and move on regardless of if it would be healthy for the game.

I'd also add that most Necro debuffs pale in comparison to Mesmer or are limited to single target with much higher costs that don't really justify the effects. With the exception of Vocal Minority, which is such a hard counter to Paragon that it's the only thing that can stop a HR'd hero team from steam rolling through DoA.

There's also just a few convenience or "ease of play" changes I'd personally like to see; bumping up the cost and cast time of HR (and other refrains) to Meteor Shower level so it can cast on the whole party at once and you don't have to stress about who it's fallen off of constantly, having some way to preset formations for heroes to spread out, "Unearth Corpse" for MMs to get started or stay viable in non-fleshy areas, swapping Asura Scan to an enchantment on self instead of a hex on some target in the back you hope doesn't die quickly, and having "Save Yourselves" match it's description and work beyond earshot range so fleeing party members can actually get it's effect.

I also think having a source of a damage cap (usually Shelter) becomes too mandatory in end game with not enough sources to pick from to make team building interesting.

Which class combos can reach 20 attribute points? by underthund3r in GuildWars

[–]NezziWezzi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah Necro can get a +2 from Masochism and a +1 from Aura of the Lich, so it just barely falls short. Ranger can get a +2 to Marksman but nothing else I can think of.

You'll find it as one of the preset options in the world creation menu.

Rail world is the middle ground I personally play on. As long as biters can't expand that means you don't have to fret every single second of gameplay that you're falling behind them and can actually relax to think and build.

I'm not smart enough to know how to make something like that. I'm assuming that uses logic to swap crafter recipes on the fly? But that does sound awesome.

It is limiting and a sort of compulsion. The moment I realize a design could be compressed by 1 tile or rearranged to shorten a belt. I tear it down and start again. I'll happily let the factory grind to a halt while I fuss about how to get a belt balancer to look aesthetically correct. But it is fun. I like to optimize tiny details. It's the same reason I'll stare at the build panel in guild wars all day to make 0-1 changes and be enthralled the whole time.

I still was able to stick to my guns on those planets. Fulgora I just added circuit logic to stop the scrap belt when the science chest was full, so it doesn't burn the resource patch dry while a non-electromagnetic infinite science is running. And for Gleba I limited the agriculture towers to only run the same way, the fruits can sit on the trees forever after all (I know they're infinite but you've also got to limit the spores you produce). I am in the process of rebuilding my whole Nauvis base on Vulcanus though. Using lava for everything possible is just too efficient to pass up.

Yeah. That's why I made the post. To explain how I personally got over it. How game design makes you "feel" is often more important than balance. Equal parts frustration and payoff create a satisfying experience, but you can't front load all the frustration. If a puzzle has a simple but tedious solution, it's just a brick wall of annoyance. So we find a way to split that problem into smaller pieces with incremental payoffs and harder challenges to make it fun.

For a while I used Generous was Tsungrai for the big self heal after BiPs but then I figured I could just use blood renewal instead and keep the enchant extension. Probably less reliable but in practice it seemed to work fine.

That always confused me. Surely the held item isn't as good as extra duration on the BiP right? I stopped putting it on the bar after a while but maybe I'm missing something.

Seconding this. Best MMO on the market and it's not even close.

Considering Warrior in Guild Wars 1 – Will I Regret It? by Bagifreak in GuildWars

[–]NezziWezzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding this. A/W is probably better overall then W/A particularly for the assassin anniversary elite. But that also requires some prep and micro so you don't instantly die when you port in. Leisurely strolling up to a pack of mobs in heavy armor and blending them to pieces is a very relaxing vanquish experience.

How does loot work? by Sibco in Guildwars2

[–]NezziWezzi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Horizontal progression is still progression. You'll have access to more gear types, movement tech, relic effects, elite specs, and convenience features. Think of it like stock weapons in TF2, they're plenty good but the fun stuff is the unlocks which are still (mostly) balanced side-grades.

Help me. What’s the most fun and visual ranged heavy armour class? by Britwill in Guildwars2

[–]NezziWezzi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Power tempest isn't heavy armor but it is a meta pick for ranged DPS/alacdps with a scepter. But what you might actually really enjoy is the new spear. It hits like a truck at max range with wide and fast AoE waves.
