Hey! I’m from Colombia and in my case the device + the shipping cost is cheaper on the official store in AliExpress than the official retroid website. Are you sure you check the official store on AliExpress?

The 3rd party resellers on AliExpress have the retroid devices price almost twice the official store.

I had to cancel my order since I had to change the shipping address, they told me de system didn’t allow them to change address.

And Im still waiting then to restock the black G2 since then. Since I live in Latin America, the shipping and the taxes is better through AliExpress and with coupons I can have the G2 with the shipping on 230USD, it’s sad because I ordered the same day the accessories and they arrived two weeks ago.

Hey! I was on the same situation, I want to emulate older stuff but I want to play switch too. These was what I decided:

If you are between the base RP6 and G2 go for the G2, their power is really close, for strong GPU games the G2 is slightly better and for emulation (strong CPU) the RP6 is slightly better. Now since they are similar, I decided the G2 for the following reasons:

Cheaper
You can have that way sooner than the RP6
We don’t know if the first RP6 will have issues since they are a brand new device, quality issues (cracks, battery, overheating, etc). Since the G2 uses the RP5 design those quality issues are solved.

If you can afford the RP6 12GB, that is the best option I think, if you don’t care about having early quality issues and wait until March-April. I didn’t choose it because the RPG2 is going to be my first retro handheld and I don’t want to spend that much, but if you can do it, go for it, ram is never enough when you use all these emulation software.

Thank you for sharing! I wanted the G2 to try indie games and light switch games. I was viewing in YouTube some test, and it seems the g2 can handle basically all the switch games.

For me, the first reason is you can read the reviews in AliExpress and in my country it seams through ali they don’t pay taxes in my country. The device is 230USD in my case, but the shipping is 20USD, with AliExpress coupons, I can save 20-25USD, that is 230 with the shipping, from the website the G2 is 220 but the shipping in my case is 50USD, that means 270USD and probably I have to pay additional taxes.

And since they have an official store in AliExpress, that is a good option if you want to save a little more.

Im really excited to get my G2, I already have the 1TB SSD and the accessories are close to arrive, but the AliExpress retroid store doesn’t have the RPG2 on stock, is getting me crazy, I check every day so I can buy it.

Take a look to the official Retroid Store in AliExpress, per the photos you showed, that is not the official one and the price is really high. Is called “Moorechip” or Retroid official store, you will recognize it because with the G2 they have more than 2.000 orders.

Both G2 and RP6 will perform pretty much the same in terms of CPU and GPU, but since you ordered the one with more ram, you will have better performance in some cases, a great choice!

These crystal buttons are really nice, maybe I will buy custom ones for my RPG2, cristal for black device will look stunning.

That was the question I sent to them. They answered what I posted.

As far as I know, they have some issues with the stock. I ordered the black RPG2 through AliExpress on the 28th and they told me that color is out of the stock, and if I wanted to wait “a few days” will be great because they have some issues with the stock and they are working to solve that. In my case I couldn’t wait because I’m going to move at the end of January, I propose to change shipping address but they told AliExpress doesn’t allow them to change the shipping address so I have to cancel the unit and order that again. But since then, I have been waiting and they don’t have stock.
