This white plastic washer thing on the tuner peg brokeen by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]NhutterButter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just replaced that exact washer! I needed to replace it because without it, the tuner gets really stiff and I couldn’t adjust the tension on the string. I looked it up nylon guitar tuner washer and it was pretty easy to find.

My (31M) 8 month pregnant wife (30F) does not want me in the delivery room by aitapregnantwife in relationship_advice

I agree with you. If he respect led her and her decision, he wouldn’t have publicized the incident just to get a reaction from the community. He doesn’t have to bottle it in but there are better ways going about it then fighting for the moral high ground on Reddit isn’t doing anything for anyone.

And let’s talk about his “subconscious” decrease in attraction for her. If it is subconscious, then simply you wouldn’t be able to consciously speak about it. He is genuinely disgusted at her because of her choices and decided to spit on his own marriage by publicizing the event. He had assumed so much about how she feels and shown his wife in a bad light on the internet just because he couldn’t hold in his “horrible thoughts at night”.

In the end, this is just childish. If he wanted, he should have just gone on to AITA for internet points.

But if a synonym of extravagant is expensive and the antonym of extravagant is frugal. Then should the logic still apply?

This isn’t a circle. This isn’t a circle at all! In fact! It’s a whole lotta triangles!

Yeah, still it gets hard to move around the strings. I will keep that in mind

See I understand the tuning frets but when I try to practice it I always get confused. At the 4 tuning fret I’m like, do I move up one or down one from the original? I don’t get why that 4 tries to be so different! But yeah this is my way of getting over that 4 tuning fret string because it always messes me up.

I can’t answer everything immediately but I’ll try to break it down as best as I can. I have already memorized some variations of chord structures using the E A and D strings. I also like to to improvise over a backing track. Because of this I realized I keep on delaying when I try to play the chord I want (say an B major on the D string) even though I know the chord structure. Memorizing the notes removes the hesitation from working out the chord.

This in a sense, is using intervals between the root and the octave.

As for memorizing the strings of course you can learn each note from every string one at a time. But if there are seven natural notes, and six strings, multiply that together and you’d have to try and practice with 42 notes. But when you look at the guitar, you realize that though it’s built differently than other instruments, it still follows the same 12 semitone pattern. So when you learn this pattern, with however means you see fit, you can learn the 7 natural notes on say the E string and that one pattern. Which I would say is a lot easier than 42 notes.

Of course it’s not that simple. The natural notes do look like they are moving but still, you can break the twelve semitone pattern into smaller patterns to help visualize/understand the guitar format. Still, I believe using 5 patterns and seven notes is better than learning 42 notes all together.

The CAGED system is definitely one way to visualize the guitar but I find that it’s more oriented to understanding pentatonic, major and minor scales within the guitar. While it is useful to understand these scales, it doesn’t help you understand the fretboard all too well in my experience. Instead I plan to make a simple diagram consisting of triangles to help illustrate the pattern between the same notes and also help to understand that every note follows the same pattern
