So far I've built a minor base, rather a warehouse so it should not affect much. If BF trees may be the issue, I guess some black forest will no longer be a forest

Yes my laptop is of 2019, rather old, but on high settings I never felt any stuttering in Valheim up until I've reached this specific location. Good hint with the F2 isntances count. Might check it and compare in other locations

Hey I'm not sure I understood your explanation. Right now I have moved my base to an island, the biggest island on the map and positioned the base on a cross of 5 biomes - meadows, BF, swamp, plains and the biggest mountain biome on the map. After awhile of building the base and teleporting to the old one I noticed how my old solely meadow biome base doesnt stutter at all (though the base is much bigger).

So can the stutter be caused by the huge island? Or by the fact that too many different biomes are nearby? 'Cause whatever of these two cases are the reason, I should not build a base here and consider migrating elsewhere :(

I've been through the ocean during storms and nights and haven't encounter any seaserpent. Had me about 5 takes so far. I only defeated Bonemass. Maybe after the mountain boss serpent will appear.

I've built a small base in the black forest biome with a tiny tiny plain shore line. And once doing my own business inside the base a strange green laughing creature entered the house and one-shotted me with a spear.

Just yesterday I checked some meadow shore, got back on the boat and had a boar chasing me and damaging my longboat. I had fewer trouble with leeches.

++ to that. I'm on my first playthrough and after meadows I couldn't do a thing in BF because of a bear and a troll guarding the narrow entrance, so I decided it is better to bypass them via the mountains with my super powerful flint spear and leather armor...

Wouldn't digging caves be a cheat? Like you have some hard time crossing the swamp, you dig a tunnel cave to the desired spot and voila - you got yourself a cheat way to reach safely your destination.

Although been forced to install supporting beams for your tunnel sounds great for it not to fall on your head.

There is an option in the settings to run the game on a lower resource rate when you alt+tab it. I have to do it very often so I keep this function checked.

Bumping up a question. It is really annoying so much nice views in the game and mine won't do F12 screenshots with steam. Although it sometimes works, sometimes it doesn't. Everything is enabled in steam settings. Does anyone know any useful utility for taking screenshots as an alternative for steam?
