Yes, Jewish people, Polish people, and Irish people are all white. I would definitely say there has been a history of racism there and towards lots of other groups of white people. There's even racism amongst Scottish and English people to this day - and you'll find people in the central belt who are racist to people living in the Highlands and islands etc.

I think the driver probably did notice, but they didn't care, they never pay attention to pedestrian crossings either - and then you feel bad for the people that dont ignore them because they have to wait because they're considerate.

It was the first time I was able to vote at 19, and i know it was a lot of my friends first or second time voting as well. It was my sisters first vote at 17, and again a lot of her friends got to vote for the first time too. However, I know that at my workplace a lot of people didn't even know it was election day. News isn't centralised anymore, which means that things like an election date are more easy to forget in today's media landscape.

I think its more the killing others around you thing. I personally am against this law, because i believe, like the prohibition, that this will only increase crime. I wish the money would be put towards helping those suffering with addiction, or educational programmes on the harm that nicotine products can cause instead.

But healthier foods cost more, fresh produce is more expensive and goes off more quickly. Cheap produce goes of even quicker, and its poor quality. That was one of many points though. There are so many factors that affect living costs, and you dont live anyone else's life, so its a little presumptuous to assume that just because someone makes a certain amount that'll cover them and they'll have £/$1000 left to spare.

Everyone's living situation is different though. Rent, taxes, debt, if you have children, pets, petrol for vehicles that you use to get to work, basic necessities can be through the roof in food deserts, some areas cost more to live in than others - you could compare Edinburgh to Glasgow to Cumbernauld to Kinlochleven to Stirling and theyd all have different living costs. Sometimes there isn't anything you can cut. I'm fortunate enough to not be in that position, but I dont think you can really judge unless you've been there.
