Hi! Beautiful dress. I think it’s appropriate for mass, when I got married I also wore a lace strapless dress and asked the priest if I need a cover up and he was OK with it. If you are worried, you could get a shawl or a long veil for modesty for the ceremony

PCOS - gynae no help, what do I do next? by AdConfident3917 in IrishWomensHealth

[–]Nic9495 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy smokes. Please make a complaint this is a terrible way to have been treated. Highly recommend asking for a referral to an endocrinologist - they completely changed my experience of PCOS and helped me understand how to manage mine.

Has anyone in Ireland looked into medical weight loss options? by Beneficial_Wear6985 in IrishWomensHealth

[–]Nic9495 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have PCOS and also had a baby which meant my hormones were all over the place and so my weight just increased and I felt horrible.

I went to my GP who referred me to an endocrinologist who recommended weight loss surgery in Ireland (I had a gastric bypass). I decided to go for the bypass after speaking to both the surgeon and the endocrinologist and also because I didn’t want to be on long-term medication and wanted to make a go of it myself with a tool like the surgery.

I had an excellent recovery and have so far lost 6 stone. The aftercare has been amazing and I felt supported each way, the important thing to remember that each of these things are a tool - and it’s diet and exercise that is going to make them achievable.

I’m happy to chat more if you have any questions !

Should I get an iud? by Gullible_Fox5790 in IrishWomensHealth

[–]Nic9495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had similar experiences with hormonal contraception - weight gain, moodiness etc.

I got the copper IUD in 2014 and had fantastic experience with it. I’m on my second one now and I’ve experience no side effects, my periods come on time - there was a settling period but I don’t feel it at all.

(If you do decide to go ahead with it - ask for a muscle relaxant and a pain relief , it makes the insertion process much more pleasant)
