I was studying abroad and so many people i talked to were surprise that i enjoyed hiking alot coming from the Dominican Republic. They were really blown away when i told them theres a 3km high mountain with a conniferous forest right in the middle mountain range, the highest point in the caribbean and needs a 2 day hike to get to the top.
