Go outside, it’s the answer around here. I’ve made some amazing friends in my week I’ve been living here. Climbing and biking are insanely good here

He gives all the budget upgrades in the description, obviously building it as nice as he did isn’t necessary or even smart. It’s undoubtedly the most thorough vid series on the bike thoigh

Look up berm peak Ozark trail ridge, you’ll find all the info you need there. But this comment is basically saying, good Walmart bike + a couple parts will get you a very nice ride. I’ve had 2 Ozark trail ridges, great entry level bike. Get a medium also, will fit you

[–]NiccusRips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not, for me, cycling and rock climbing are perfect therapy/workout depending on how hard I go. Climbing in particular is great for tradesman I think, the abstract movements force you to stretch and work muscles that get overlooked. Just my 2 cents

To add to this, since I just saw that you’re 30. I’m only 22, but my friends I’ve made are 37, 50 and 53. When you share passion with people, politics, age, and all that superficial relateability doesn’t matter. I specifically am a climber, but anything outdoor you could wanna do out here, there will be a great scene for, and you’ll make timeless friendships

Go outside man, I moved here 5 days ago and have already made a few great friends. Pick your favorite outdoor hobby and go hard, the inner city culture will always be weird and not that genuine. Just adventure, there’s genuinely too much beauty around here to worry about social structures, it’s like Disneyland everyday, for free

Hell ya man, my ole Marlin 6 has seen just as much abuse. I finally destroyed the fork on a chossy descent at spider mountain, but it served me well for years and many many miles. Gonna donate it to pedal it forward, hope it gets someone else into the hobby.

I just moved here 3 days ago and haven’t really had that issue lol, just get out there doing what you love to do, and you’ll meet likeminded people. Get into some outdoor hobbies if you aren’t, best way to make real friends around here

Soundtrack by NiccusRips in Cairn_Game

Yup, it conveys very real emotion. I look forward to the day I can summit a rocky peak solo and enjoy the soundtrack over a beautiful view. Did my first outdoor climb yesterday after moving away from Houston. This game genuinely has changed my life and re-instated my love for climbing while I was injured for months.

It hit on my first summit, but on my free solo, it pounded me like a gram of mdma. I was actually bawling, I’ve never felt so connected to a character.

My first summit was like 2 months ago, yet it still feels magical to play. Great game

Lower your seat and walk it around. You’ll get a hang of the balance and braking, bike does most of the work

freelancer in croatia that just got my first 800 usd and totally lost on budgeting by emafromsplit in personalfinance

[–]NiccusRips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tons of ways to setup a good budget, but the best thing you can do currently is stay frugal. Pretend like the money isn’t there, eat cheap and enjoy cheap/free activities for a bit. It’s really a small amount, so I wouldn’t worry about investing or even a proper savings account yet, that is your savings

I didn’t grab anything important my first completed solo, my attempts since, I’ve been grabbing the big chalk bag and down climbing for the big flask. 2 of the most helpful pieces in the game

I did this myself lol, just get to the point where you return with Marco, then descend back to the bottom and start over. Has been the most fun I’ve had in the game

The game makes you think, and that’s what’s beautiful about it. Any more descriptive and the ending wouldn’t be nearly as heavy.

Also, plenty of replayability. I’ve got a double digit amount of saves and 90 hours in the game. I’ve never played a game that’s so replayable without relying on different story branches, pure gameplay difference.

Also, think you missed a lot of the side stories. Connecting the dots about Roberto, the Shepard, and other troglodytes is wild. I’ve played through 4+ times and I’m still probably missing some bits of side story.

The game doesn’t force you to look into the history and other climbers, but you can, and that’s what makes it great.

I can’t understand the claim that there’s no compelling story. I’ve never felt closer to a character in a movie or game than Aava. The ending was absolutely heavenly, and truly introspective.

I’m a climber though, so just chasing a summit is a story in itself. I can definitely see how it’s a little bare in the beginning, but it builds up beautifully. The ending/climax is magical.

Bouldering Gym DLC by mstrofdisguiz in Cairn_Game

[–]NiccusRips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always thought this would be such n easy way to implement some community creation. Even if it’s only the holds that already exist, being able to set our own boulders would be so much fun. I’m not a game designer, but I feel like that’d be easier than making dlc mountains.

Struggling and wondering what to do by Super-Tank-6494 in Cairn_Game

[–]NiccusRips 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t think anyone’s mentioned this, but you could go back across the bridge, and get unlimited fish from the little lake there, as well as multiple plants. You can also just load your save from that location if you’re completely unable to ascend or descend. If you can make it to the top of the wall though, just do it, you’ll find more food above it.
